Good call on one flew over the cuckoos nest ... Great flick!!

And a good thread maybe could be for "the most hated character in a film"

Wow, "Gallipoli" - awesome flick, completely forgot that one. How about "Breaker Morant" as well?

I thought of "Brian's Song" but figured no one would even remember it. First really sad movie I ever saw, watched it as an ABC Movie Of the Week back in the day (1970? 1972?). Classic. Billy Dee Williams as Gale Sayers and James Cahn as Brian Piccolo.

I hope you were joking about "E.T." though.

            Cuckoos nest ok...

the previous posters are seemingly all on crack... or never have seen a really sad movie!

try watching "Savior", 1998, by a Jugo Director (forgot the name, sorry) in association with Oliver Stone, starring Dennis Quaid and Nastassja Kinski.

saddest scene in my opinion is when the girl gets her head smashed by the fat bastard with the hammer.

            the movie is rated "R"

watched it on ARTE, thank you ARTE for good programs.

I mentioned Breaker Morant. Are you ignoring me or something?

That's really a wanker thing to say.  So just because what others find sad isn't what you find sad, we must all be on crack?     You can shove that remark where the sun doesn't shine.

My saddest scene is from Life of Brian when the fat guy took that 'wafer thin' mint in the restaurant scene...

                    Oh the carnage.....
