9/11 Conspiracy? Or did we get the truth?

Based on another conspiracy theory being debated in the Fish box right now, lets try this one.

   Was 9/11  set up and carried out by Al-Qeada; or perhaps it was something more sinister as Charlie Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell and millions of their ilk have come up with, including the popular internet movie ''Spare Change'' and whole collections of scientists and general naysayers.... that explosive charges were set up inside the Twin Towers and the Pentagon and that the 4th plane taken down in Pennsylvania actually landed in Cleveland?

 Once again we have not ONE person who can prove any of it, not even one single witness to come out and say that they were part of the scheme [it would take thousands of people to pull it off]  and yet this story still  has legs for some unknown reason.

Seriously, some people [actually, a LOT of people] believe this stuff, where do you guys stand.

I seen a docu about it a few months ago, and if half the stuff they claimed in it is true, then yes of course the US government were involved. But with me its a case you cant always believe everything you see on TV. Unless there is 100% proof provided to me from a credible source I'll just sit on the fence with this one.

Yea right, the Bush administration carried off the brilliant evil plan in total secrecy and executed it perfectly, then managed to fuck up everything else they did in the next 7 years thru complete incompetence with leaks everywhere.

I go with the "It was a bunch terrorists" and "The Bush administration was incompetent" set of facts.

The only 'coverup' was in obscuring how much of the financing and planning came out of people in Saudi Arabia (not the government, people).
And of course the BIG LIE, Saddam did it, lets invade Iraq.

check the '9/11 truthers' movement...... pretty crazy sorts, really; because they seem to really believe the BS they are talking about... Popular Mechanics had a good time disproving every single one of their theories and every time "Loose change'' {sorry, not 'Spare Change' but really, who cares?] has been re-done [ now 3 and counting] it has to change a little because all of their original points have now been debunked!

       Implosion idea's on 2 110 story buildings, set to go off at exact times about 90 minutes after 2 airliners hit them.... no one admitting to setting off these charges, of course..... Charlie Sheen; funny guy and decent actor but by siding with these lunatics and narating their whacky movie he loses all credibility.

There was no conspiracy, we all watched it happen live on TV.

Snick called it right - the incompetence of the neo-cons ensured that they could never have pulled off such an attack.

The real con trick was the BS shoved down our throats when they tried to link this as justification for invading Iraq.

That will go down in history as the biggest blunder of all time. Nearly 8 years of war, so much money has been spent that the US has bankrupted itself, no end in sight, 1000's more troops expected to die in the defence of what?

    Yes, I see how it reads like that.

I believe it was the night before the transition of power to the Iraq Interim Government that the future Prime Minister Iyad Alliwi & some keen staffers found buried in the mountain of regulations that the Bush Administration insisted they sign, the document that gave America free & permanent rights to all Iraq's oil reserves.

They must have suspected such a document existed. It was the only one written in English & Alliwi sealed his own fate by refusing to sign it.

He was gone within 12 months & the next leaders haven't exactly bought credit on themself with their collusion with various factional leaders.

Just how much they are controlled by these tribal chiefs, nobody is saying. I doubt it matters that much, the country is such a basket case that Winnie the Pooh couldn't do any worse.

I think as far as 9/11 goes, it's impossible for me to buy the mainstream version of events. I.e. terrorists attacked the U.S. "because they hate us." This is simply reductive, childish nonsense, and in my opinion, is just pandering to the masses.

I find it very hard to believe that those planes hitting the towers would make them collapse the way that they did. It really looked like a controlled demolition.
Also, there was building 7, I believe it was, that was completely untouched, yet mysteriously collapsed "on its own", in exactly the same way as the towers. Didn't some port authority official slip up and say something to the effect of, "We decided to pull it?"

This is not directly connected to the attacks, but in the mission statement of the Project for aNew American Century, which is a group of neocons, they mention something along the lines that in order for the U.S. to maintain its global dominance would require a , ". . .a catalyzing event, like Pearl Harbor." This was written in 1996, I think. Sorry I don't have time to check sources right now.


Like so many other conspiracies and conspiracy theories, there has been so much shit, lies, propaganda and misinformation thrown around, that it becomes impossible to really believe anything that we've heard or seen, especially if it came from the usual media sources.

I remain agnostic, but I suspect that elements within the U.S. government had a hand in this.
