A man from the US city of Detroit has been sentenced to two years in jail after stealing the car of a woman he was on a first date with.

After a restaurant meal, Terrance McCoy said he left his wallet in the woman's car, asked for the keys and drove off, AP reported, quoting the woman.

McCoy pleaded no contest to the charge of unlawfully driving away a vehicle.

Defence lawyer Terri Antisdale said his client was "a very nice man who made a bad decision".

A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt under US law but counts as a conviction at sentencing.

That was in the USA...

In the UK he would have gotten off with a polite slap on the wrist from the cops and the car owner would have been ordered to pay him restitution for wages lost through court appearances!

No wonder the criminals and immigrants have nicknamed the UK "Treasure island!"

Child rapist strikes again days after being let off!

A top judge is at the centre of an investigation after he freed a child rapist who then kidnapped and raped another youngster just eight days later.

Judge Adrian Smith had spared the sex attacker a jail term after his first victim's family, who are devout Christians, forgave him. But just days after the boy was placed on a community order amid protests from prosecutors and police, he lured a five-year-old boy from the front of his home and raped him nearby.

During his horrific ordeal the terrified victim was forced to commit a series of sex acts before being given a Star Wars light sabre toy as a 'reward' for keeping quiet.

Judge Smith, who earns £128,000 a year, allowed the 16-year-old to go free. The 16-year old attacker is facing jail after he admitted child abduction, rape and kidnap.

Attorney General, Baroness Scotland, who herself is under a current investigation for employing illegal immigrants and dodging taxes, has been asked to investigate the case!

The latest victim's father, a 35-year old printer from Greater Manchester, said: 'Our son was abused not only by this lad but also in effect by the British legal system that was supposed to protect him. I always thought people who commit such serious offences like rape automatically go to prison - yet this boy was allowed to go free. He was even allowed back onto the estate where he lived. In my eyes if someone commits an adult or grown up crime then they should serve an adult or grown up sentence - not be mollycoddled by the courts and told to get treatment. My son is six years old now but as a result of what happened his childhood innocence has probably been robbed. Heaven only knows what effect it will have in him in the years to come.


The sex attacker originally appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester on June 28 where he received a three-year community rehabilitation order. The court heard the first victim, a seven year old boy, was lured to a bedroom and subjected to a horrific assault and the attacker was later convicted of causing or inciting a child to enage in sexual activity and rape. Judge Smith is thought to have allowed the boy to go free after hearing statements from the victim's father who said his 'religious faith' had allowed to him to forgive the attacker.

As part of the three-year community rehabilitation order, the youth was ordered to receive counselling sessions to address his behaviour and supervision from probation officers. On July 4 the second victim was playing just yards from his from doorstep when the attacker lured him away on the premise of looking for a lost football. He was taken back to the teenager's house where he was repeatedly sexually abused.

The boy's parents realised their son was missing when they were alerted by his friend just minutes after his disappearance. He was found emerging from the attacker's house as they frantically searched the neighbourhood for him. The attacker initially falsely claimed he had been working for Christian Aid and tried to claim he 'helped children who had been abused' but the boy told his parents what had happened and police were called. In court the curly-haired attacker appeared in the dock dressed in jeans and a black T shirt and pleaded guilty to the charges.

Sorry to disappoint you there BP the same thing does happen here in the US of A. Depending on the charge and jurisdiction, judges have majoe discretion when sentencing these lowlifes. It happens all the time..........

Hes right about the car... i had my BMW nicked by a 16 year old loonie who smashed it up and nothing happened as the social services got involved.. the cunt had 16 previous offences but was declared a retard or similar

he smashed the car up after mounting the central reservation on the motorway and clipped an oncoming car while driving down the wrong lane... but unfortunately he survived

To rub it in i had to pay charges as my wreck of a car was in storage for two weeks...

Don't just talk about it...

Here in Oz, there have been several country towns where the police have been forced into doing something about out-of-control youths by the appearance of vigilante groups fed up with inaction.

These weren't just a bunch of neighbours, they consisted of large groups of influential citizens.

Ironic really that authorities warn us that it is dangerous when individuals try to take over & administer the law.....

suspended sentence

But when there was a six- pack or something other in the trunk ... you go in prison... that was grand theft...

Your right Detroit is not in the south, but it does not have to be, as most of Detroits natives have migrated south. All you see around here is Michigan car tags any more. Most foks do not even get to spend time in jail unless the rip off a big influential persons car. I konw of some thsat have been stealing cars since time began and never spent any time in jail other than until they got bailed out, and then the county/state paid for their lawyer and they get no jail time. Folks get more itme in jail for jaywalking or failing to pay a parking ticket than they do grand theft auto.
