    Microshaft

Has anyone else had the joyous experience since Sept 15?
If you use MSN messenger to chat you had to upgrade to the latest version.

Only problem is its fucking useless and doesn't work!!!

I tired it months back and had to uninstall the thing.

Now i'm forced to it use.

It has a serious known issue - Some or all of your contacts disappear
       - ummm thats why we use

And the best part is Microshaft knew about the problem and still forced everyone to upgrade

    They are undoubted assholes.

I have two sign on -- one i cant see any contacts anymore, the other i've lost 30% of them.

Great thinking once again from those morons whose only decent program was Excel - the rest is shite

Always had problems because of compatibility problems and switched to Mercury messenger. Logs into msn for you and uses all your contacts as saved in msn.

              http://mercury.im/

Mind you if its msn losing your contacts then nothing gained.

A few of my friends got a similar message asking them to upgrade, but strangely, I never did and I'm running several different versions on my work laptop, personal laptop, and a few PCs I have at home on my LAN. Was the email you got a hoax/virus perhaps?

Hi DP (the upgrade was forced by microsoft on 15th sep. onwards - messenger itself wont allow you to log on)

I had previously experienced the problem (i voluntarily upgraded months back) and removed the latest version and went back to older version. No issues.

So many people may have already upgraded as its not a new update - it just you could no longer log on to MSN messenger
unless the latest edition was installed post 15th sep.

No Hoax - its real and not everyone sufferers from it.
                        My laptop is fine.
                        My PC is stuffed.

Microsoft doesn't know whats going on.
At the moment i am working with them to find a solution - i will give them that they are for real to fix this issue.
I had to send in 6 files full of data so far and i'll await the next step.

Fortunately my missing contacts appears on meebo so its workable, but things like file sharing and cams are down.

It so silly they forced an upgrade with a major known issue.

Here is a link to the crap i mean... just a misery forum although some people think they may have answer

Interesting they say if you switch MSN messenger to run in windows 2000 compatibility mode - the forced update won't occur.

Sound like i'll remove msn again and go back and try that one

Well most of the operating systems they've rolled out have had lots of minor problems and in a few cases some really major ones.

Why spoil such a fantastic record........

I purposely never use MSN and for security reasons never load MS Outlook on any computer I own/operate.
