Young Eun Yang from the ROK eagled 14 and then birdied 18 to beat the unbeatable champ Tiger Woods who was 14-0 leading going into a final round of a major!!!!!

Awesome finish!!!!!! and congrats to the south Korean ( not south chinese as Nick Price called him) for being the first asian born to win a major golf championship!!!

Golf in South Korea is soaring as evidenced by the complete dominance of Korean women on the LPGA tour

Yang played an excellent final round...consistent all the way except for that one bogey. Tiger, in contrast, was inconsistent and not on his game at all; especially his putting, and lost by three strokes.

I listen to the PTI podcast nearly every day, and not a fucking show goes by where Tiger Woods is not mentioned. No one can talk about a golf tournament anymore without hearing "Tiger Woods" even if he is not even playing at that event. Tiger has ruined golf for me. He's criminally overexposed! Thank god someone beat him, as he's been dominating tournaments this year and I'm fucking sick of it.

I actually like and respect Tiger alot. He is a bit arrogant and did show his ass by not interviewing with CBS after the tournament but the guy is all about winning and he was embarrassed by his performance. He did do interviews with the Golf Channel and the World wide leader after he regained his composure. But you're right the whole story the rest of the week will be how Tiger blew it not how Yang won it with a couple of tremendous shots

As far as Tiger goes he is head and soulder above any other golfer ever. I used to watch the Arnie/Jack wars and Tom Watson along with some other greats and other then Nickalus they all pale in comparison

I agree. Think the superstars are good for all sports as it makes them more appealing to a larger number of fans.

Yes, he is a little arrogant, but surely has earned the right after his career to date.

ah well, losing by three strokes against someone who played a superb round is ok.
three strokes are not much, I should know!

if one gets a little unlucky, 5 strokes are lost very quickly an a round, without any difference in the quality of play...

Hey no arguing the guy is brilliant but I am a little sick of his act. I was traveling when this was going on. When I heard he blew the lead on the last day my first questionwas did he stand up and do all the interviews in the disappointing aftermath. Smutts answered that for me-no he didnt do the one he HAD to do and thats CBS. He lacks a little class. Dont get me started on that twat of a caddy either. That guy needs a slap or ten!!!

I disagree STRONGLY with Smutts that he is "head and shoulders above any other golfer ever". Although he very well might surpass Jack's 18 majors, I think Jack would win as much as Tiger had they competed together. Dont forget Jack has, I believe, 19 SECOND place finishes in Majors!! Think about that. Also I dont think any of Tigers major wins have been the "come from behind" variety. Also Tiger has done FUCK ALL in the Ryder Cup-one of the most pressure packed events in golf.

Anyway, its good fodder for argument!!!

NOW I get why you dont regard Jack that highly..........It makes a bit more sense. BTW I think Tiger is 34 years old. He doent have 20 years of top flight golf left. He is in great shape and would venture to guess that he has about 8-10 years left. Will he win a Major at age 46?? Who knows? Will he have the drive to stick around that long?? Who knows?? Time will tell but he should surpass that Major win record. I am still tired of his act though....

Venture to guess what regular Thais think of him and his Mom, especially his Mom??
