I remember one time I was in BKK one time couple of years ago there was some kind of event taking place, IIRC it was near the MBK and loads of Thai Teen girls were dressed as Manga characters, You think this could have been the same event?

That pic is not mine, mine are better, but I was on the 'wrong' computer and just grabbed one off the internet.

Smith - more or less the same event, the MBK event was monthly. The Central World event is every 3 or 4 months - but mostly has the same sponsors. I preferred the MBK days, it was outside and the lighting was better.

I saw one of these at Emporium when I lived nearby a few years back, maybe 2006 or so..... problem is that the Thai's were very self-conscious, they think they look strange in the outfits and get kind of giggly, etc, and seemed to be forced into wearing costumes they didn't like..... whereas the Japanese actually seem to LIKE wearing the stuff!

Still better than in the west; there was a convention like this in Montreal last year and it was lame.

Every day is Cosplay Day here in Japan. Just going to work is a porno (though, admittedly, it's mostly girls. J-boys-as-girls pale in comparison to Thais, sadly).

There is one gogo in Bangkok one might loosely call cosplay: Spice Girls in soi cowboy though no ladyboys. Be aware buying the models drinks is expensive and they generally are not barfinable. Worth a stop though if you are in the area.

Damn! So, where's the pics from the last event then? This sounds like a blast. Not from the point of view of "I want to put on a costume" but from the point of view of "I'd love to bang some cute little asian dressed in a really weird costume".

I only just this month learned of the bizarro fetish/kink referred to as furries. Can't believe I'd never heard of it before. Mentioned it at work and everyone seemed to already know about it and/or knew someone into it. I'm usually pretty "on top of" pop culture, I'm obviously spending way too much time on this forum and not enough watching movies or crap tv or reading magazines. Or hanging out in malls. Or wherever it is people pick up America's shared culture nowadays.

I found this pic Soctrates posted of Snick in costume from last year's event, but am dying to see the photos he and Socrates took of the other attendees from last year. Can you post a few? I think it would be hot.

Been to Japan, and it is great
