Billy Mays dead at age 50

Not sure if any others than americans know who I am referring to but BillyMays was found dead yesterday in his Tampa Florida home. Mays was the abrasive loudmouth pitchman selling junk on the TV informercials, and usually wore a blue shirt had a black beard and was spokesman pitchman for products such as Oxiclean, Magic Simonize Pen, Orange Glo etc. Mays could not talk without yelling sources say even in a civil conversation in general, Mays was noted for yelling.

The Grim Reaper sure has been busy during the month of June. Glad its near over!

This is the third to fall....after Farrah and Michael....another TV icon....love him or hate him....and he was also 50. Here he is ordering McDonalds....great stuff

damn, you are kind of harsh, don't you think? did billy used to steal your lunch money as a kid and give you atomic wedgies?

granted his infomercials were not the best form of tv viewing, but it was pretty easy to change the channel. sure did not see anything about him that would make me say i am glad he died.

I just saw him on the Tonight Show just 2 days ago...

Mays was found unresponsive by his wife in his Odessa, Florida, home on the morning of June 28, 2009. He was then pronounced dead at 7:45 am, appearing to have died sometime overnight. The Associated Press reported that there were no indications that the house had been broken into, and that police did not suspect foul play.

Mays had been aboard US Airways Flight 1241 from Philadelphia to Tampa that blew out its front tires as it landed at Tampa International Airport on June 27, the day before his death. None of the 138 passengers and five crew members were reported to be seriously injured immediately following the incident, but several passengers reported having bumps and bruises from falling objects. Mays told a local Tampa television station that some of the objects "hit me on the head, but I got a hard head." It is unclear whether Mays' death was related to the incident, but his wife did note that he did not feel well when he went to bed the night he died.

I've never, not even once, bought something due to an infomercial. Obviously people do, or they wouldn't be on.

Sometimes changing the channel doesn't even help.

I channel surf in the wee hours of the morning and once found Billy Mays on 3 separate channels at the same time, selling 3 different products.
