Great song. Bird, the male singer is 50+ and gay and has made great pop music for generations. Jintara, the female is very famous for maw lum (folk music of northeast Thailand). I never got tired of this song. It was played in the bars a lot, but that was over 5 years ago is the reason it is not tainted with negro rapping crap that has ruined so much Thai music since.

(Stogie @ Jun. 05 2009,14:56) Truly awful stuff... but still better than rap!
Kor Ched Namtaa (Clash)

Jai Sung Maa (Sek Loso)

Pantip (Sek Loso)

Hit the green PLAY button twice on any of these pages to hear the song.
Thai pop music is an acquired taste, when you first listen, some of it is bad and some is OK. After awhile, some is OK and some is good. It is an excellent way to learn Thai words.
Those of you in Bangkok can listen to 93 FM and get the hits and classics most of the day and night.
Stogie, next time Olay suggests going to Pantip, you should answer her:
ว่าจะไม่ไปพันธ์ทิพย์ จะไม่ไปพันธ์ทิพย์แน่เลย
mai bai pan-tip ja mai bai pun-tip nae loeu
(I'm not going to Pantip, there's no way I'm going to Pantip)
She'll think you invaded her music collection (EVERY Thai knows this song).

raps got to be one of the worst forms of noise invented yet, even punk rock was better than that, what the fucks stringing a load of rhyming words together and spouting them fast about eh?how clever is that? ive made better sounds on the fuckin toilet.
btw i know sweet fa about thai music but all i know is it sounds great when your sitting in a BKK bar had a few beers and are surrounded by loads of loveliesrobbo

Get me into a Thai Karaoke place on your next visit, and I'll sing "you are still my angel" in a love song to you and you'll either fall in love with me or hit me for wrecking one of your favorite songs.

Those outside Thailand (and inside Thailand I guess) can listen to continuous live streaming Thai Pop here:
http://internet-live-radio.blogspot.com/2009....on.html
There are other stations on that page as well.
This Thai chick I work with occasionally in London has it on continuously with her headphones at her desk. She's been in England for 8 years ... you can take the Thai out of Thailand, but you can't take the Thai out of the Thai (and a bad idea to try it)!

(swaraj @ Jun. 05 2009,14:30) If you're into çross culture music try the Cambodian band Dengue Fever, would recommend 'Escape From The DragonHouse' or, for some genuine delta blues, anything by Kong Nay, king of the 'Chapey'.
