        love this line;

      ''Favre admitted to ESPN that he was motivated to play in 2008 largely because of his resentment toward Packers general manager Ted Thompson.''

     How mature!!

                The tarnished legacy of the all-time interceptions leader and worst clucth performer in pro sports history continues; there IS a God!!

    I thought he still had skills going into last season, based on his 2007 season being his best in a few years. However, at this time, I'd really like to see him just stay retired. If he continues longer, he would likely tarnish his legacy as an all time great in the eyes of many people. It looks like his skills have eroded since even late 2007.

    Even so I'm sure whenever he does finally completely quit, he'll be a first ballot Hall of Famer as soon as he is eligible.

      If people are willing to pay, then why not unretire again and make the bucks

        Well despite the fact that he pretty much made the Bears look like fools for the better part of a decade, I still wish him well. He's one of the all time greatest, perhaps even the greatest, quarterbacks to ever play the game. If he wants to continue, he's pretty much got a lifetime pass from me. However, I would think it's best to see him retain some of his dignity and just leave the game altogether.

            he was offered something like 20 or 22 million dollars by the Packers last years NOT to play for anyone and be their off-field ambassador or some shit, and turned that down to play for the Jets for less. For THAT I will give him some credit for being a gamer, but not for having much grey matter upstairs!

            Turns out he won't play for the Vikes now; damn it, would've LOVED to have seen him throw another 20+ picks this season!

              I think he likes the attention he has gotten for the last 5 years it seems of everybody saying it will be his last. If he goes well, its his swan song, when he goes bad, he shouldn't have came back. He must miss having his name in the headlines and bloggers pages.

              He is like that old heavyweight Champ who just can't give up the spotlight.

                Yes, it happens to the best ones like that...in every sport. I have a feeling he will end up taking the job with the Packers so he can stay close to the game. For sure he will make a better team executive than Matt Millen...lol.

                  Well, he is staying retired or retiring for real now. however he got his headlines. Fact is he could play if he wanted to as the NFL is starved for starting QB's and many have proved that you only need to manage a team by not making mistakes. Just look at Trent Dilfer with the Ravens a few Superbowls back.
