Personally I think, if you question things too much, you should perhaps stay away.

1. Yes, it seems that 2 of the posters here are asking

"Should I .... ? "

rather than

"Please advise me how I best can plan for working in Thailand .... ?"

Going abroad and living in a different country and society is an adventure and unless you waste yr life drinking or otherwise, there will always be opportunities.

2. I do not necessarily believe that Thailand is the best place to work as an ex-pat, even if the abundance of ladyboys readily available is significant.

There are other opportunities.
There will come other opportunities.

But if one cannot figure out alternatives to Thailand, it is not the worst place to start working as an ex-pat.
Partially because for some of the unexpected frustrations that might come along the way, there are a number of forums, where one can receive rapid feedback regarding any challenges that creep up.

And if someone wants to know, what other countries there are comparable to Thailand, as far as working as an ex-pat, with ample ladyboy recreation, then my answer might be:

"And would you like me to come to you, and help you  chew your meal?"

That might be what your crystal ball indicates.

My crystal ball says, time will tell.  
(And I really feel that I am going out on a limb, when I say that.)  

On another note, taking a risk by moving to another country is not for everyone.
There might be good reasons for some, to not increase one's exposure to risk, except by choosing a different brand of snacks (or mineral water).

In contrast, there is a saying in some parts of the world:
"Not taking a risk, is the most dangerous risk of them all."

(Now, I have to cut this post short. I have to draft the wording for starting a new thread:
"Should I change my detergent?" (And if I do, and the sky falls down, then what are my choices?)
