  • What's In An Age?

I was wondering, do men also get bothered with their age like women do when it comes to snatching the next partner or hookup?

For example, youre in a bar/club/restaurant sitting comfortably with your usual drink, then along comes a younger guy, well lets make him considerably younger, looking smug and irritatingly available, haha!
Does that amp you up in getting that pretty girl across the table from you? Or you just shrug it off knowing there is power in wisdom?

Im curious what you guys have to say...

I will be turning  40 this year (no wisecracks stogie) But I dont look or feel I like 40. But have all the fears you mention but have not experienced any of that . I believe all it takes is good self image to over come ones fears. When I see folks at my age I look at them and say to myself I need to take care of myself so I don't end up looking like them. Well my point is that yes sometimes I do get irritated but I cant stop time or control time..

statuesque, good to see you're back and active on the forum again!

The answers you get will probably depend on a few things - is it a p4p situation, etc.

In the LOS in a p4p situation, I haven't felt the urge to compete with a young punter to "pick" up a lady. That's because I know she will be available later. The other good thing is that the p4p ladies don't usually mind how old the guy is.

It's a different situation in a non-p4p setting though. Of course the young guy will have advantages meeting the ladies, and I would not likely be going after the younger ladies either.

As for self-image and irritation if the young guy comes in - doesn't bother me, that's life, and there are other things more important to be concerned about.

Never been good looking so matters little how old I am
Would rather be 32 then 42, even though I look closer to 32, but I'm not, so have to grin & bare it

There is power in wisdom, however, that being said...your body better look as good or better than that smug youngster or you are in trouble. I am 56 and have been working out at home since I turned 49. Now I look and feel better than I did when I was 30. Truthfully, I was bothered at 49...looking in the mirror at a waistline that was beginning to get larger and facing my 50th birthday. So I did something about it. Now, I have my blue eyes, cleft chin and a good body...no worries!

And I thought it was about having the best pickup lines!

If youve already gulped down a few beers, do you still think about these "other things more important to be concerned about"?

                Post Number: 32 -thegame925 Jan. 05 2008,

I am 75 in October, I follow the Roman and Greek tradition of gaining stregnth through sleeping with youth (a la Ghandi, who was neither Greek nor Roman).

Well, "sleeping with" is stretching it somewhat, because if it is a p4p situation, I am paying to send them home when I want to sleep.

My companions need to be of legal age for the country that I am in, but I will admit, that apart from one post-op who is approaching 40, the GG's and LB's that I see on a regular basis are in the 20-27 age range.

I like to feel (well, don't we all - like to feel), that I am doing my bit for society giving these youngsters the benefit of my experience, charm and wallet (my body is most certainly not the temple that is going to inspire them).

I guess it depends on the situation as someone said. In p4p definitely not a concern. In fact at times age and 'wisdom' can be an advantage.

In 'normal' social situations, well I never feel as if it's a competition. If someone is into me great. If they're not and go for the younger guy, well good for her. Chances are she's not my type anyway

I'm 44, not as buff as alan perhaps, but I still have all my teeth

                            Nothing much Ma'm.
Some 25 year ago I used to be a young, fashion consciuos, somehow handsome, and VERY available guy. Older men were looking at me with some sort of envy back then.

Well, my turn now to suffer
