Cincinnati - IMO this is a tough call. Bengals got a lousy defense, but the Ravens are starting a rookie QB
Detroit - The Falcons are also starting a rookie QB, and one who is destined for Pro Bowls in a few years, but I think this Lions team is not a repeat copy of seasons past. Marinelli is righting the ship and this team has too many weapons for a questionable defense like Atlanta to contain.
Seattle - This is also a tough call. Seattle is the better team but traveling clear across the country to play in one of the more hostile environments for visiting teams could make things pretty close.
Cardinals - The Cards are starting veteran Kurt Warner who can still rack up some big numbers with one of the best WR tandems around while also facing a less than stellar defense. The 49ers recent first overall draft pick QB has been relegated to backup status by weak performances and their QB battle seemed to be more of picking who played the least bad, not who played the best.
Cowboys - On paper, they are the class of the NFC. Cleveland's defense looked vulnerable even when the starters were playing, in preseason, and their starting QB got beat up pretty good too.
Vikings 28-17 - Viks have one of the best defenses in the NFC and the league's next great running back. I expect they can shut down the favorless Pack offense and that AP can run wild on their D. But I have been wrong before.
The thing that worries me about my picks is too many home dogs, but that's how I am guessing it this week.

"Gentlemen and ladies, 'Those Who Stay Will Be Champions' is for you too. It's for every Michigan fan that's out there. When the going gets tough, you don't cut and run. It's not the Michigan way. If I heard it once from the old man, I heard it a thousand times -- when the going gets tough you find out who your real friends are, and that's why we must stay. Because there will be championships, and this staff and these kids will bring those championships here."
