Week # 2
Game# 1
Tennessee Titans (1-0) at Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)
Bengals by 1 ½
The Titans played a tremendous defensive game last week in holding one of last season€™s surprise teams the Jaguars to 10 points and an early upset in the stacked AFC South but it was at a cost with Vince Young going off with an injury. Last season the age old Kerry Collins from the €œNothing Lions€ played good enough to lead the Titans into the playoffs but he is another year older and is limited to very weapons with the Titans. The Bengals looked like a disaster film last week in getting manhandled by the Raven€™s D. Carson Palmer never seem to have fully recovered from knee surgery, Ocho Cinco played like OchoZERO and even changed his name back and after finally getting an opportunity Chris Perry failed to deliver so far. I think the home crowd will assist enough to put the Bungles over the top
My pick the Bungles in tight one
Game# 2
Indianapolis Colts (0-1) at Minnesota Vikings (0-1)
Colts by 2
Taking pre-season off proved to be costly to the 2 premier QBS in the league this year as Saint ( I never met a product that I couldn€™t promote) Peyton looked very ordinary against Da€™ Bears Sunday night and of (I€™d Do) Tom Brady is gone for the year, more on him later. Was it the Bear defense or just Saint Peyton being rusty? Hard to tell but I€™ll tell you one thing as much as I despise the overrated one he will be ready this week. Watch for an overabundance of 9 in the box on the Colt€™s D Sunday as Tavaris Jackson has yet to prove he can pass the Vikings to a W and the Colts will sell out to stop Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. I think the sainted one will avoid an 0-2 start barely.
My pick is the Dolts
Game# 3
New England Patriots (1-0) at New York Jets (1-0)
Jets by 2 ½
So many story lines here I hardly know where to begin. Who woulda thunk 6 months ago that the premier QB in this game would be wearing # 4 in Green and White? The loss of (I€™d Do) Tom Brady (MEEEECHIGAN) will be devastating to the Pats chances of getting back to the Super Bowl but they are still a very good football team. Randy Moss is still head and shoulders literally above the rest of the league as a wide receiver as long as he is happy and the Jets still have a weak pass defense. But they do have the old cheesehead in charge and he seems to still have the skills. The Meadowlands will be rocking for Brett€™s regular season home debut. The combination of the Pats realizing they will be playing without (I€™d Do) Tom Brady (MEEEEECHIGAN) for the rest of the season along with Favre Factor will be enough to hand the Pats their first regular season loss in over a year.
My pick is J E T S JETS JETS JETS
Game# 4
New Orleans Saints (1-0) at Washington Redskins (0-1)
Pickem
The Saints, the fave of an old BM whose name escapes me, are already off to a much better start then last season by actually winning a game before week# 5 this year!!!! And Drew Brees looked incredible!!! Even with the lack of a home practice field Dem Saints are clicking already and Reggie Bush is beginning to look like a serious weapon. The Skins have been resting up from their season opener almost 10 days between kickoffs and hopefully have gotten Jason Campbell on the same sheet of music as his receivers. This will be a quality game but I think Dem Saints are real this year.
My pick Jambalaya and Gumbo Dem Saints
Game# 5
San Diego Chargers (0-1) at Denver Broncos (1-0)
Chargers by 2 ½
The Bolts took a bolt to the heart last week when the defense laid down and allowed Jake the Panther to march thru them like swiss cheese to whip them in the last minute and now they find themselves going to Mile High in an early AFC West showdown needing a W in a major way. LT should get some yards against a relatively weak Bronco rush defense and Philip Rivers will make some connections but can the Chargers D stop a revitalized Jay Cutler and his combination run attack? I think everyone€™s pick as a possible Superbowl team, the Chargers are going to be an 0-2 hole after this week.
My pick is the Mile HIGH Ponys
Monday Night Bonerus!!!!
Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) at Dallas Cowboys (0-1)
Cowboys by 6 ½
Either the oddsmakers don€™t believe in Donovan and his Eagles or their expectations of Tony Romo and his boys are rather high with the spread being this high after the Eagles bitch slapped the hapless Cardinals last week 38-3. Although the Boys looked pretty destructive themselves whipping up on a good Cleveland Brown team. This is an excellent early season NFC East matchup of two quality teams and should provide ESPN a great rating night. I think it will be tight but TO will burn the Eagles secondary late and the Cowpokes will pull it out.
My pick is the Cowgirls 24-21
To Summarize my picks are:
Cincinnati
Indianapolis
NY Jets
New Orleans
Denver
Dallas 24-21
