After the debacle of retiring, then trying to come back to an unwelcoming Green Bay, forcing the NFL to allow him the chance and the so far 1 and 2 record of The Jets...

I've stood by and watch this unfold for the last year and have to say that he has pretty much blown "Legend" status (outside of Michigan) by hanging around the league.

It's too late now of course, but he should have bowed out when he had the chance.

IMO, when you look at the caliber of starting QBs in the league, Favre is still in the upper half for ability, and he is coming off his best season of this decade. He has not had any major injuries to slow him down, so if he wants to keep playing and some team wants him, I say why not? I HATE the Jets though, and while I rooted for him as a Packer, I will never hope for him to have success with the Cessnas.

Sportswriters talk about how players should retire. Unless they've had concussions why should they?

I don't think it reflects poorly on a player if he has a couple bad years at the end of his career. One could argue that to keep playing after one's physical skills have diminished somewhat takes grit and determination.

  this is the most over-rated person in the  history of sports

 he has one title and about 900 picks and people {mostly in the part of america that no one cares about} think he is some sort of a legend 'cause he had gaudy numbers.  He sucks....he threw another pick against the Pats 2 weeks ago, looked like hell against the chargers monday and knows about 10% of the Jets playbook.

  I said it up here even before the season......the division he ends up in [happened to be in the AFC, proving there IS a God] would have  DB's and safety's salivating just waiting for the ball to be thrown their way and it proved to be true.

This guy has been indecisive and reckless his whole career, has more "misses" than "hits" and is WAY over-rated

an average player who played in a small-city market all his years, if he had started his career with the Jets or the Raiders or the Cowgirls all those years ago no one even would have heard of this hack.

Marino was not overrated. That is pure bullshit. Anyone who knows football, knows he was the best QB to ever play in the NFL. Don't try to give me the crap that the Phins never won a Super Bowl when he played so that means he wasn't the best ever. Just a list of Super Bowl winning QBs includes enough names of run of the mill QBs to make it blatantly obvious that being an all time great and having a Super Bowl ring are not necessarily mutually inclusive.
