I was like Scorpio, spent years sucking Rennies in and Quick Eze in  Before discovering Pariet, which is rabeprazole the acid inhibitor. I had tried Zantac, but they weren't strong enough. now I just take one tablet a day and I can eat/drink anything without ill effects.
An endoscopy revealed I had a lot of esophageal (isn't spell check great) scaring after 35 years of daily heartburn, now all gone.
If I can only reduce my daily tsunami of red wine I may live for ever
