Two fairly young, (30/40 years of age) were arested and charged and been to court and sentenced for their trips to Thailand to have sex. They were arrested and had their day in court in MObile, Al., not Thailand. Not a lot about it in the paper but I found it quite odd that the state would go after these two for merely going there to have sex. Could they have done something they were caught in LOS and for them to get released the USDA agreed to prosecute or would LOS law and courts just locked them up and not worried one way or the other what the USA thought. No mention of drugs etc was made, just their indulgence in the pay for sex industry and their "sex vacations" .........kiddies perhaps? Just a guess there as well. IIRC they got like 15 or 20 years sentence.

Two men pleaded guilty today to traveling, and conspiring to travel, in foreign commerce with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with children, Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division Matthew Friedrich and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama Deborah J. Rhodes announced.
During the plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Kristi K. DuBose, Burgess Lee Burgess, 44, of Mobile, Ala., and Mitchell Kent Jackson, 31, of Pensacola, Fla., both admitted that they traveled to Thailand between 2000 and 2002.
According to their pleas, Burgess and Jackson traveled with the intent to sexually abuse children, paid for access to children and in fact sexually abused children.
Burgess and Jackson admitted in their pleas that in preparation for their travel to Thailand, they corresponded with Wayne Nelson Corliss of New Jersey. According to plea documents, Corliss himself was in contact with another individual who was a resident of Thailand. Also according to plea documents, Burgess, Jackson, Corliss and the individual in Thailand were all members of an Internet chat group dedicated to men with a sexual interest in minor boys. The individual in Thailand invited Burgess, Jackson and Corliss to visit him in Thailand to engage in sexual acts with minor Thai boys. In addition to sexually abusing children, the plea documents state that Burgess, Jackson and Corliss photographed and videotaped the Thai boys.
Corliss was identified in May 2008 after Interpol released a photo to media outlets in the United States and abroad, and made a global appeal for information that could identify the offender depicted in the photo. The image had been cropped from photos depicting him sexually abusing young children in Southeast Asia. Within 48 hours, and acting on information obtained from individuals who recognized the offender as Corliss, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, coordinating with Interpol the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) located and arrested Corliss. He pleaded guilty on Oct. 28, 2008.
Burgess and Jackson will be sentenced on April 3, 2009. At sentencing, the men will face a maximum term of 30 years in prison. They also face the possibility of lifetime supervised release following their prison terms and a $250,000 fine.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Alabama, with assistance provided by CEOS Attorney Michael Yoon and Lee Vartan of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey. The case was investigated by Interpol and ICE.

I think the 3 of them should do the 30 years here in beautiful Thailand....I hear Thai prisons are less than lovely places a foreigner would care to live for any length of time, let alone 30 years.
They are a disgrace to the human race and the remainder of the existance should be nothing short of miserable.

Ah hah......All the local paper had was pretty well what I had posted. I think for what they did, they should be branded on their forehead to ID them as pedo's, and then hold a public square castration for them, hell, why stop with a castration turn em into Eunichs. If they get to do their time in Atmore (Holman Prison) they can count on being someone elses little boys or wives. Odds are thats where they will get put, if they indeed stay in Alabama, because Alabama has a bad habait of pushing off its problematic orpotential problem prisoners on other states, so its not all that uncommon for Alabama to trade x amount of their prisoners and take in x amount of another states prisoners, so no one is generally aware of what they did initially. In time however I am sure it gets out and they have to watch their backs.
Is there nothing that gets done to the folks in Thailand that provided these kids?

(kathylc @ Nov. 15 2008,22:17) Is there nothing that gets done to the folks in Thailand that provided these kids?
You see plenty of reports here about the police arresting Yabba dealers.
An occassional report about a falang sex offender being arrested but practically nothing about Thais beeing arrested or convicted of sex offences.
Last one I remember was a rape and murder and that was a while ago.
