No doubt it's a really really tough period... i voted somewhere between 700-800 will be the end of the misery, but i got to say i am shocked at how far the aussie market just keeps falling.

From the peak in 2002 to peak in 2007... all that run is now gone~~~ The bull market has been wiped off the map in 15 months.

And today look like another 4-5% will be wiped from our market

I'll still soldier on ~ one thing i learned from my time is that it's not that market will always rise (see Japan folks)

.. it's that there is always opportunity!! You just need the time to spot it and take advantage.

Blue chip ~~ well that a way to get smashed senseless .. the blue chip make up the index...

The value lies in high yield small cash stocks that have been terribly oversold - some up to 90%.

But if you can get paying yields of 12-20%, that are likely to be sustained... then it makes bearing the down markets a little easier knowing the returns are massive and your capital will return in 2-3 years... hell some of them will probably rise 5-10 times in value 3-4 from now.

        There is hope~~~

Looks like the markets are going to get hammered today. Its enough to turn me into a manic depressive.

Hey, let's make a list of of some stocks that are susceptible to gain when the market finds a bottom?

              I begin:

              LYC AU
              PRU AU
              KNB CN

these are good potential gold & mineral resources companies.

                Nope... we're all fucked!!

                Then again....

If this game is a zero sum gain.. somebody must be getting rich!

As far as what might be good now I like pawnbrokers such as EZPW or FCFS. When people can't get credit and don't have a job they'll be hocking the family jewels.

The most important commodity is clean water so I also like VE.

If one doesn't want to go long right now yet own these stocks one can hedge by also buying an inverse ETF.

Invest in vices. Alcohol and tobacco. The worse times get the more people use vices to escape. Except for casinos because peolple wont have money to travel. They will smoke and they will drink.

buy her a spy classic and some pig-arse on a stick.

She'll be just as happy and will still suck your cock
