(DutchCowboy @ Oct. 24 2008,19:41) Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows any addresses in Pattaya for getting some quality tailored business suits and shirts. Tried the search... no results. Many thanks
Last couple of years I have had five or six fab suits made made in Pattaya along with a similar number of excellent pin stripe business shirts which, despite countless visits to the dry cleaners and laundry are still serving me well. I wear them at the race track while conducting my day to day business with those turf accountants.
I am always being told how dapper I look
Anyway, I only use one shop which is located in North Pattaya and run by gent called Jonny whom I have known for well over ten years.
I highly recommend the service he provides and garments produced by the tailors which he uses.
His phone number is 0817812839.
Send me a PM if anybody needs further info on how to secure a good deal from him
Pentire, super, thanks for the information. Just what I was looking for. Ill give him a call when I get there.
Not worried about the brand, just want it to be good quality material and fitted as I am v.tall and find it difficult to get good suits and shirts even here in the Netherlands without spending a fortune to get them custom made
Pentire might have discovered a gem. A really good tailor who knows what he's doing is a great find and it sounds like he's well worth a look. I might even give him a try myself next time I've over.
But as for the tailors around 2nd Road and Walking Street, forget it. I usually ignore the touts anyway, and give them the coldest of cold stares if they try to get in my face or shake my hand. But sometimes I can't resist pissing them off by pointing at the rubbish they have in the window, which looks like it's been tailored by a blind man, and laughing out loud.
It doesn't take an Yves St Laurent to see that it really is shockingly bad tailoring. And what about those ridiculous silk shirts they all have in the window, with the name of your favourite football club plastered all over them? Have you ever seen anyone actually wearing one?
I've bought 4-5 dresses from a tailor located opposite of the Sandy Springs Hotel (Soi 13) and the quality has been ok. I think I will get a couple of new dresses and think I will give Pentire's guy a call when I get back in November. Thanks for the tip

Do you have the address? Thanks, DC
He is located within a small parade of shops towards the Beach Rd end of Soi 2 and on the right hand side as you head down Soi 2 in the one way allowed direction from Second Rd.
The shops are about 30 meters before you reach the vehicle entrance for the Sandalay Hotel.
I agree with what most posters write about the standards produced however, this guy has never let me down...Oh one tip, if you have a pair of suit trousers which fit you perfectly then take them along to be copied with a few changes.
Pentire, Thanks for the tip on this tailor. I went there earlier this year and had some sport shirts made for about 500b each. Although most tailors just take the measurements and send our for the fabrication (you can see some of the many shops behind Tukcom mall) Johnny, the owner of this shop, is easily one of the most pleasant and personable people I have met in Thailand. His English is fine and no hard sell techniques. His shop is call Johnny Prano Fashion and the number is 038-415652. It is located on Soi 2 off Beach Road opposite the A-1 Cruise Hotel (which I like to refer to as the Titanic)
BTW as a note, I tried the A-1 Cruise laundry for non-guests, the office is located on Soi 2 at the end of the hotel. The prices were very reasonable (cheaper that usual hotel charges) and my clothes came out much cleaner than using small laundries. You could always give it a try and decide for yourself.
