As for Lazenby, well Australia used to be part of The British Empire, but is now a member of The Comonwealth, our Queen is their Queen so that makes him British by proxy...

 

anyway... as Commander Bond was in The Royal Navy and then went over to MI6 he has sworn alliegence to The Crown, so there, he's as good as British as you're going to get..

As for his cars and gadgets, yes they may well be of foreign origin but I think you'll find that they have all been modified and improved by a wacky middle-aged English man... aka Q

Okay, "Britain" is a term made up by those folks on the southern part of the island. As for the Scottish, they know the real score. It's just that they're a tad too close to stir things up, seeing as how the SAS has a little more free time after their shenanigans in Belfast slowed down. Funny, they never sent James Bond to Belfast, did they? A little *too* tough for the pretty boy.

Anyhow, most of us don't bother studying British/English myths or history anymore. The world has moved on to China. For every one Bond flick in the last decade, there's probably a dozen superior HK flicks involving superspies.

To say nothing of XXX. Vin Diesel!
