What a series of stupid mistakes has done for him.

But the biggest blow to me is not being able to hear the 'Rock & Roll Pt 1 & 2' theme played around sports stadiums in the USA.

The witch hunt currently enjoying global support on so called 'sex fiends' will be over in a few years and I suppose if you are daft enough to get caught you deserve to pay the price.

He was a childhood hero of mine and I'd welcome him round my house any day as I would with other cultural icons who had made a mistake in their lives and paid the price for it.

The press saturation with this guy is worse than the crime he committed. The relentless hypocritical and merciless attention is way over the top and it's the same weird newspapers who waited till that famous page 3 model Samantha Fox was ONE DAY OVER 15 before they splashed her nude pics all over the world for the world to see!

Gary, you made some stupid mistakes but we should ask ourselve this... When Jerry Lee landed in the UK in the 50's with his 12 year old wife, what did we do? Pete Townsend get caught trawling the world wide web for child porn, but "eh, it was research..Guvner!" Micheal Jackson get caught fiddling twice! Pays of the first kid and gets a expensive lawyer to get him off the 2nd time!

It's not politically correct to say so but to me the forced rape of a 22 year old is a far more serious crime than consensual sex with a 12 year old although both are clearly wrong and are quite rightly a criminal offence.

But rapists get 'help' and a red carpet through the justice system for scarring their victims for life and other sex offenders get hounded for life by the so called 'News' outlets!

As with all things, this hysteria will pass in time. Society will get used to it and ultimately be more forgiving. Just as they got used to adultery and 'living in sin' or not believing that the Earth was round.
