XXY is a 2007 Argentine film written and directed by Lucía Puenzo. The film stars Ricardo Darín, Valeria Bertuccelli, Inés Efron and Martín Piroyansky. It tells the story of a 15-year-old intersex person: the way her family copes with her condition, and the ultimate decision that she must eventually make as she explores her sexuality.

XXY has received widespread critical acclaim, winning the Critics' Week grand prize at the 2007 Cannes film festival, as well as the ACID/CCAS Support Award.[1] It was nominated for eight awards at the 2008 Argentinean Film Critics Association Awards, and was nominated or won awards at a number of other foreign film festivals. It was chosen to close the 2008 Melbourne Queer Film Festival.

The film's title is a reference to Klinefelter's Syndrome, also known as XXY Syndrome, a condition in which males have an extra X sex chromosome.

yeah ...i saw xxy in the cinema..

its a very good movie....more human and real then the regular pap that comes outta Hollywood.
I don't think there has been a film made yet that has approached the intersex subject in this way.

Alex the main character is what most fellas on this site would gravitate towards. Despite her family and doctors she does not want the chop.

this seed seems to be working...

Just a simple questions... If I offer all content from AsianTS as a torrent file, would that be ok?

I guess yes, since posting links to other torrent files seems to be ok...

Well, so if someone post an illegal torrent it is ok as long as it doesn't destroy your business...

Nice one Freebird.... thats in the running for "best" comment of the year...

Somehow me thinks that downloading an Argentinian movie for free ain't gonna hurt the maker...

I suspect that there are not too many board members who would be willing to pay for this one - so nobody is getting robbed.

There is only potential upside for the filmmakers of art house cinema from this type of exposure IMHO.

If he's getting money for every sold copy it's going to hurt him. At least the company producing the DVD will get hurt.

"I suspect that there are not too many board members who would be willing to pay for this one - so nobody is getting robbed."

Love that line. I would never ever pay for a porn site membership, so if I download AsianTS movies it's absolutely ok, cause nobody's getting robbed as I would as I would not pay for it anyway. Do the same rules apply to music downloads?

May I draw the following conclusion from what you just wrote:

If I'm not willing to pay for something anyway, it's ok to steal it?

You may not draw any conclusion from what was written Freebird.

It was in reference to this art house film which is highly unlikely to be known to the majority of users here.
By having a torrent here people can view the film, if they like it they can purchase it later. Its good PR for the film and for the directors and makers simply because its a niche market for this part of the movie industry.

AsianTS is a well known world wide website and plenty of free preview material available for the cheap charlies to oogle, and if they want to become members they can do so.

And quite frankly i have not paid for many DVD movies in the past 5 years, why? simply because the movie industry has been selling us overpriced DVD, and obsolete technology at overpriced rates. We the consumer have been shafted, same with the music industry. So if you are silly enough to want to always throw your hard earned away to line the pockets of the fat cats... be my guest.

The likes of napster and pirate bay have been at the forefront of the push for business to switch to the modern age and offer reasonably priced online downloadis for both movies and music - this is what the consumers want. So you can sit around clearly with the head up your ass or come and join with us folk in the real world.

I'm enjoying the modern age.... oh and yes i do purchase movies, but not DVDs only Blu ray and HD DVD format as im only prepared to part money for a reasonable product.

Come on, who is buying a movie once he got a copy on his computer?! It's a niche, sure. So every sold copy counts...

"And quite frankly i have not paid for many DVD movies in the past 5 years, why? simply because the movie industry has been selling us overpriced DVD, and obsolete technology at overpriced rates."

Got about 300 movies on DVD, all originals. I got patience and wait for a good price. And "friends (internet buddies)" in the whole world sending dvd's on request and so do I (Screw those internet shops). So it's quite easy to get cheap movies...legal...

"The likes of napster and pirate bay have been at the forefront of the push for business to switch to the modern age and offer reasonably priced online downloadis for both movies and music - this is what the consumers want. Did i miss something? Since when you have to pay for a download at pirate bay?!
I still wait for a good website offering downloads for tv series... fuck i-tunes...

"I'm enjoying the modern age.... oh and yes i do purchase movies, but not DVDs only Blu ray and HD DVD format as im only prepared to part money for a reasonable product. "

"reasonable product" um well, I wouldn't call Blu Ray reasonable... The industry is just to damn lazy. They never produced DVDs that use all possibilities... "Gladiator", one of the first DVDs is still one with the best picture quality. Same shit will happen with Blu Ray.

I can see the hoards running for the stores now, its a blockbuster, new release Argentinian art house gender bender flick

                              C'mon you get real...

And just to reiterate.. the illegal sites have forced the legal companies to offer reasonably priced online alternatives to the in store purchases... what part of that is confusing?

And as for your comments regarding blu ray... clearly you don't own it nor enjoy quality cinema... and you've purchased 300 DVDs ... more fool you...

Blu ray has been in japan for 3 years at least and here you are throwing hard earned after mpeg II technology thats goes back 10 years

You argument is likely saying a 1 megapixel camera takes the same photo quality of a 5 megapixel.... you can enjoy yours, i'll take mine anyday!

A good quality Blu-ray film on a large TV shits all over standard DVD anyday! Problem only lies with the original source material and not the format.

I'll sit back and enjoy my 150 odd Hi def movies now...

Only problem is, does anyone know where to find buy some quality HD TS flicks to enjoy between my trip to LOS?
