Well - theoretically it presses and obstructs the vein carrying the blood away from the penis. So, after the erection has taken place and the penis is engorged with blood the cock ring should prevent the blood to "leave" the penis itself, and making it flacdid, due also to possible cardio-vascular problems.

I have tried sort of cock rings in the past.they are very good for keeping the cock rock hard and sensitive.the only problem i have found,is after ejaculation when wearing them.i have taken them off,and a few hours later,my crotch and balls feel swollen and painful.i don't know why,or if this only happens to me.
