Who out there has any Phobias ?
I do have Phobias about Getting germs in public places.
Examples;
1) Hand rails. Going up stair ways. ( I won't touch them. )
2) Seats and Chairs in; Movie theaters, Resturants, Amusement Parks and other peoples houses.
3) Door handles, especailly in public restrooms. I will not touch a restroom door handle unless I have a hand towel in my hand to open it with. If I have to open a door with my hand and Not my shoulder, I will imediatly find a restroom to go wash my hands.
4) Money; Every time I get done hanling money, I reach for the Bottle of GermX.
5) Gas pump handles; Believe me, I keep handiwipes and a travel bottle of GermX in ALL my vehicles and in several different locations at work.
O.K. so in saying all this, I don't want anyone to think I'm totally out of control. My Germ phobia is not out of control. I do teach my habits to my daughter. " Go wash your hands, Go wash your hands, Go wash your hands I always tell her. But only at appropriate times.
So I have a Germ phobia and a compulsive disorder when it comes to Alarm Clocks, Keys and anything that my cause fires, which I also teach to my daughter.
None of the above things control my Life to the point of disruption, but they are on my mind 24/7.
My wife agrees with me that my imperfections of;
Phobias and Compulsive disorders are actually not bad ones to have. She doesn't share any of my traiats but agrees if you are going to have these problems, they are good ones to have.
