(terryw @ Apr. 20 2008,16:25) It could be worse for the USA - instead of having Dubya as their President we would quite happily let them have Gordon Brown. He is probably the worst Prime Minister in UK history.
just wait till lord snooty(cameron) is in charge!!!
I always get a good laugh at the comments made by all the expats in this forum regarding American politics. America is always so bad and Britain is always so good. Where do the majority of ATS members come from anyway?
(monkeyman @ Apr. 19 2008,21:47) I wish i was from the Land of Hope and Freedom , so i could feel that my vote and the vote of my countrymen of my Great Country during the last 2 elections ,, could be totally vindicated and summed up by the iconic heartfelt words of DUBYA after a the Pope's inspiring words of hope and insight while visiting the US .
I give the Irish and Aussies a pass. As for the Americans who bash Bush...the Democrats give us Obama and Clinton...need I say more? Then all those who don't vote...if you choose not to be part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.
(seamus @ Apr. 20 2008,03:28) DUBYA, what a complete & utter C**T !
I wonder who own's up to voting the knob end in, I mean the first time was a fix, but who in their right mind would vote that C**T in after his first term !
America you should hang your head in shame !

They are not capable of feeling shame for "electing" that vile thing as president. For the most part the U.S. is a country populated by rubes who are too stupid to recognize their own interests if they jumped up and bit them in their over-fed asses.
Remember, a wise man once said. "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public".
For the record, I am a U.S. citizen and travel on a U.S. passport; but I've never identified as an "American".

If you think Bush is bad think again, we have got to have 3 of the worst candidates ever to become the next president.
First you have Mc clain, ex veteran, who could make the mistake and pull everything out of Iraq, which in turn could cause one hell of an uprising, Next you have Obama, who i dont think he is old enough or smart enough to run the country, and then you have Hillary, and god help everyone, if you let a woman take control.

First you have Mc clain [sic], ex veteran, who could make the mistake and pull everything out of Iraq, which in turn could cause one hell of an uprising, Next you have Obama, who i dont think he is old enough or smart enough to run the country, and then you have Hillary, and god help everyone, if you let a woman take control.
Who is "we?" Are you a Yank? I thought you claimed to be Irish...
Secondly, McCain (yep, that's his name) won't likely pull out of Iraq until he shoots his load...Which given his age might be quite some time...It's much more likely that the Demo candidates will stop the insanity in Iraq...But even if he is elected and if he just happen to have a brain fart or an aneurysm and did pull out of Iraq, would things turn out as "bad" as they did in Vietnam? What a horrible mistake that was pulling our troops out...
Third, Obama You Mama is 46 years old...Maybe he should wait until he needs a walker before he runs for president...Teddy Roosevelt was 42 and John Kennedy was 43 when they were elected...Bill Clinton and Ulysses S. Grant were both 46 when they were elected...In fact, we've (yes, I'm a Yank) had 10 presidents who were 50 years young or younger when elected...
And finally, Hillary Dillery Dock, if elected would be the first female president in the USA...I seem to recall other countries in the "free" world with female leaders and the world didn't stop it's rotation around the sun...
So my question is, what's your point?
