what happens when a LB starts male pattern baldness...?
is that the end of the carreer for them?
do they then throw in the proverbial cum soaked towel, head back to the village and open a salon?
or does a wig extend thier career?
or do the hormone pills delay the baldness?

i'm lucky, i can just shave my ugly head if the time comes...

I'm just guessing, but I think hormones could delay balding, if enough of the right ones are taken.

Seems like I heard of a somewhat well known one who compensated for very thinning hair with a wig, but don't recall who it was.

Guys in the west do take Hormones for this but obviously suffer the known side effects. The idea is to reduce the testosterone... i think..which causes the effect in the first place. So yes the Hormones do help

personally i can only think of one LB who had this issue in many years and Asian types in general dont have the same degree of MPB as say Northern Europeans

Hormones should prevent MPB but as in natal women it can happen...
my brother is bald..
Girls can suffer hair loss after surgery,not the receding hairline but all
over the head,(i lost a smallish amount)..
Kahuna,the hairs all over your bathroom floor,obviously longer black Asian hair
is easy to spot on a tiled floor..plus the fact many girls use extensions..

On a more serious note... found this little abstract...It's a bit old but interesting nonetheless...Seems to suggest that MPB might be on the rise in Asian populations...

In my Isaan travels I met a number of older ladyboys who could do with some treatment...I know it is difficult for a male to come to grips with MPB...It must be horrific for a ladyboy...Although none that I met seemed to try and hide it...

Androgenetic alopecia remains the most common cause of male pattern baldness (MPB) in all races. The prevalence of MPB in Caucasians is well documented. The prevalence of MPB in Asians is believed to be very low, only one-fourth to one-third on average compared to Caucasians. However, according to my previous study, there is a clear trend indicating that it is approaching that of Caucasians. objective.

To assess the prevalence of MPB in the Asian population in Bangkok, Thailand; to compare this prevalence to previous studies conducted on Asians; and to compare the results to previous studies conducted on Caucasian. methods.

This study was conducted by two physicians and assisted by two registered nurses. The questionnaire included age, sex, Norwood classification, diet, family history of baldness, income, and education. The physicians examined the scalp of each interviewee upon completion of each questionnaire. The ethnic focus group in this study was Thai and Chinese who reside in Bangkok, Thailand. The interviews were conducted in hospitals, nursing homes, classroom, medical meetings, temples, parks, and villages. results.

A total of 1124 men were randomized in this study. The prevalence of cosmetically significant MPB (Norwood III€“VII) was 38.52% and steadily increasing with age, approaching that of Caucasians. Variant MPB was found to be 0.67% and other types of androgenetic alopecia was 0.6%. From an ethnic point of view, the majority of the groups were of mixed blood and mostly of Chinese origin, thus we were unable to distinguish between Chinese and Thai. conclusion.

This study shows that the prevalence of MPB in Asians is not as low as previously thought. The cause of this increasing prevalence is uncertain. There are no past studies in Thailand for comparison, however, it can be extrapolated that the socioeconomic environment and westernized diet may contribute to this prevalence.

On a more serious note I know a post op LB from Pattaya who lost her hair a few years ago and now wears a syrup , that must be terrible for a girl .

Asians are lucky that mostly they dont seem to lose their hair like westerners , I havent a clue why that is .
