In view of the state of most 20 Baht notes I have always wondered why they did not replace it with a coin.  One website I found said they tried but it was unpopular.
The introduction of the £1 coin in the UK was not exactly welcomed either but now everyone takes them for granted.

The last couple of times out in BKK I noticed that 50 Baht notes seem to be very few and very far between. Up country they are practically non-existant.

Like with the 20 Baht which I think would be better as a coin  -  I sort of wonder why they still bother with the 50 Baht note.

Only thing is with the daily wage for a large number of Thais still being around 150-200 Baht it puts it into perspective.

So how much are you lot out there paying for your ST's?

50 baht notes very useful, but Thais ration them.   I try to get from thai banks, but they say 'no have'.

Maybe hoard 50 baht notes?  he he!

Uptome prefer tip 50 baht than buy bar girl a drink?   OK I cheap man.

When you buy a girl a ladydrink in most bars (but not all) she will get about 30 Baht and the bar keeps the rest.

At least giving them 50 Baht notes they are getting more money than they would from the drinks.
