I read yester that many shops in Japan are being faced with angry customers who bought the out of favour HD system . " i want my money back"....

Toshiba however i learned is investing millions in a new TV that will fool the eye into thinking that any signal is Hi def. They lost face in the fallout and need to get credibility back.

I was half listening to the radio last night and some chap was talking about a TV screen that displays in 3D.

Nothing new there, you might say, except...  and this is the great part, there is no need to wear those silly glasses!

Just imagine having one of these fancy monitors and viewing ATS in 3D!

Absolutely fantastic! OK, we're a few years away from actually seeing it take off (plus everything will need to be filmed with 2 cameras), but I can't wait for 3D porn...

i couldnt have cared less who won, i would rather buy copied DVD's and watch them in the normal format, that said i download more and more movies off the net now (just watched Jumper BTW!)

I do have a PS3 but dont own any Blu-Ray movies . The daft thing is the PS3 will now play games from any region but is still region restricted on movies.

They play anywhere - but (as usual) they don't make movies that I actually want to see!

I went to Fortune today, and found out that what they are selling is DVD-9 disks made from Blue Ray original.
Price 200 Baht -- no idea if this is better quality than a normal DVD-9 -- I didn't buy any.

Dvd-9 refers to a dual layer dvd, this is what you normally get outside asia.
Dvd-5 is a single layer dvd. pirated disks are usally dvd-5 (regardless of whats printed on the case). Some cheap commercial DVDs are also dvd-5

Actually I'd be skeptical of these so called Blu Ray movies. I'll bet they are just DVD 9s on a Blu Ray disc...

But if you do take the plunge and buy a couple please let us know if they are any good.
