It's not only the kind of pap that sells magazines to lonely idiots (which I don't mind) but it's also headline news in so called 'respectable' news services.

Have I got this wrong? Is it important to know this stuff?

I really can't give a fuck about the woes of a few (so called) celebrities. These people have the dignity of Baldrick and the maturity of Millwall football fans!

If these shallow infantile wankers give pleasure to a few people then that's fine, but please confine this worthless NON-news to the Entertainment Channel and 'Hello' magazine.

I do NOT expect to read about their crass and classless lives on the BBC (I actually do quite like Eddie Murphy, but I am not interested in how he wipes his ass!)

London lite, London paper and all the tabloids - most people aren't interested in all the heavy stuff in the news.
Most people working long hours in mundane shite jobs- want to switch off and watch pap at the end of the day.

No respectable Star worth their salt should live past the age of 25. There was a list last week of the the top 1000 Rock/pop Stars and the average life expectancy was 41....

at you,wanting a piece of you?....
These people seek their fame,and can't handle the pressure
of living life in a goldfish bowl....
How many of you guys love all the attention of the girls in
the bars? some thrive on it,some hate it....same with the
girls..You can walk away from the attention,go back to being
Joe Nobody,no one looks and stares at you when you go about
your daily life...bliss..
If people crack and self destruct under constant pressure they
are not crazy,it's just human nature..

I agree. There are just those days when all the stares and gossips get me. I cant walk into a room unnoticed!!!    It does make me think (on very rare occassions of course) about Joe Nobody. Such bliss indeed..  

Back on topic, I like Amy's songs and Eddie Murphy in Dreamgirls.

well said and I would agree that its the opiate of the masses but it is also much, much more.

It has become the center of the average first world household, from cradle to grave acting as surrogate parent, teacher, role model and as influencer of human thought. entire populations can be controlled with such facility and efficiency, turning once thinking humans into grazing sheeple.
