neil young. rolling stone magazine named him 'performer of the decade'. the fact they did that 30 years ago and he's *still* making some of the best rock around has got to earn him props from any rock fan.

(rick @ Jan. 16 2008,16:42) Lynrd Skynrd racists rednecks. Good job crashing their plane.
Why gloat over the deaths of these guys?

Geez. Ronnie Van Zant and Neil Young became friends before the tragic deaths. Ronnie Van Zant would occasionally wear a Neil Young shirt in concert and Neil Young still sometimes plays Sweet Home Alabama in concert.

Sweet Home Alabama is not a racist song and any fucknut who says so is clearly stupid. They sing "boo boo boo" after "in Birmingham we loved the governor" and "we all did what we could do" refers to their opposition to him.

As far a Neil Young, my all time favourite songs are Ohio and Heart of Gold. He is Canadian, and his thin-skinned moralising tends to show through.

...so - how about his new one, though!

I like Steve Stills too... pure genius.

Spirit Road is the best song on the album in my humble opinion. Dirty Old Man is a good song too and could be a biography of some people I know! The believer sounds like something Oprah or Big Bird might sing and The Way is sing-songy-sounding, kind of poofy.

"The way. We know the way. We've seen the way. We'll show the way."

              "The . We know the . We've seen the . We'll show the ."

I'm not sure if its about getting soldiers out of Iraq or just an anthem for a religion or what...

Listen to Youngs "Powderfinger" from Rust, and you tell me them hicks aren´t racists.

And he plays "Sweet home Alabama"
                That´s rubbish.
Now, Freddie Mercury, go back to listen George Michael.

Listen to YOUNG's song to see that LYNYRD SKYNYRD is racist?

Here are the lyrics to Powderfinger, which make zero references to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

You evidently have been indoctrinated that Lynyrd Skynyrd are racists, and being a passive sheep, you just swallowed it with a smile.

And yes, Neil Young has played Skynyrd in concert before.

Now go back to the Sound of Music, Ricky Poo.

(On a side note, I think Powderfinger is an example of Young's condescending snobbishness, by playing into stereotypes about the South... "Big John's been drinking since the river took Emmy-Lou" ... WTF!)
