I didn't read anythig about this on the forum (but might have missed something).

Is the new law in place as of yet (supposed to be in effect as from 1-1-2006)?

What is your experience uptill now in the bars?

I think it only affects shops like 7+11, and not bars.
not sure if it applies to places like Bali Seafood and Beer Gardens.

Regardless of the intent of the law, everyone is still serving booze.
