My last trip to LOS was a little bit dissapointing and iam going to make sure my next, march 2006, isnt.

After seeing Billy69s trip report one way to improve my time out there and when i return is to take some decent photos.

Can anyone help as to the basic spec of camera i will need to take decent photos to share on this forum?

Do most of the girls allow nude / porno photos to be taken? Or do they have to be peruaded with money and or drink.

And finally any tips on taking a good quality photo would be appreciated

The girls are pretty much all exhibitionists and they won't mind you taking photos for your own enjoyment (which means sharing them with us, right?)

As for the right camara? Well - that's pretty easy really. There are almost no 'bad' cameras out there so if it has a flash, plenty of memory and a largish LCD veiwer then you should be OK. Make sure it's not too big and if you know a little about how brighten/sharpen a picture when it's on your computer then you should be fine.

All the cameras out there come with software for getting the pics from your camera to your computer. They'll also have some pretty easy to learn image editing software also.

Don't be frightened of testing the models in your local Best Buy/Dixons.

What works for you may not for other readers - but I have used Kuis Casio camera and it's fantastic. Big LCD screen, easy to use and learn, takes crystal clear shots in any light too. And it's the size of a packet of cigarettes!

    Good luck...

Look forward to your posts in the future!

Note, technically, you should not be posting any photos of a girl unless she has signed a Model Release form (a paper that says you can do what u want with her photos). If u just post them on here, no one will get upset. If u want them to be used for commercial purposes, you must get the girls to sign off. This is photography 101.

We ran into this problem not too long ago. A wonderful member of ATS had shot over 2000 high quality photos of ladyboys on his last trip. The photo quality was excellent since he shot them all with professional equipment. He wanted to give them for free to the ATS site however without the release forms and photos of the girls ID cards legally the photos could not be used or "sold" for profit on the net or on the ATS pay site. Now if he wanted to post his photos here on the open non profit free for all forum then that€™s a different story... and if any of the girls got upset then it's easy enough for us to just remove.

And do take pics of your girls€¦ but ask first and give them a little extra a tip for being such good sports about it. Most of the Ladyboys I know like to be photographed and have there photos on the net. It€™s a showoff thing with them€¦ they feel more beautiful and desirable when guys are posting there pics around then net and going gaga over them. It€™s also good for business€¦ it€™s free promotion for them!

It's probably worth mentioning also that Thai girls have unexplainable superstitions and beliefs. If they say NO when you ask them to pose for a pic don't even think about asking why! You'll not get an answer that makes any sense!

What's with the dual lens? That sure is odd.

On the model release....I've done shots where they knew they had to sign, but I let them sign at the end. In more than 1 case, they were reluctant to sign at the end for whatever reason. So, I recommend you do this up front before you start so all is clear. Can you imagine doing a shoot for a few hours, paying her, and then she doesn't sign? I got them over it, but they feel uncomfortable signing.

Also, the idea of taking a photo of their ID card is ok, but 90% of the time you can't read the ID number or name.

My process is I type up the model release with their name, their ID, birthdate, get them to sign that, then take a photo of them with that typed up paper (in like 18 point font so it shows up in the photo). This is foolproof.

If you do shoots at home, buy a cheap scanner, scan the ID card, paste it in the model release form, and then it's 1000% secure that the person who signed is identified unambiguously.

[The problem with Thais is their name and birthdays are in Thai, their ID cards are fairly small, and how do you prove that the person who signed is the one in the photograph? The ID number makes it unambiguous. Although they are huge exhibitionists, I have first-hand experience of about 3 models getting severely, severely pissed at the idea of me showing shots I took casually, privately, with no release form, so don't think this is all bullshit. Once they've signed, you have the upper hand in any kind of dispute.]

Avoid taking photos of anything white!

Bed linen, blouses etc. Even the best digital camaras have a hard time making white look good!

I dont think i had any problem with white. I agree you get some burnout with the contrast if you use direct flash. Its a little expensive but try for a digital SLR, very versatile.

I use an odd, but very handy pocket sized Kyocera SL400R for daily shootings and as an old Canon fan the not very high pixeled, but very reliable Canon 300D (the pixellation is overrated anyway - I don't know any hobby photographer who produces billboards, but they only talk about bloody pixels ) as I can use all my lenses from the analogue SLR. I do a lot of photography and can only recommend SLR's. They are not that expensive and the fast shutterspeed (the most important feature - unless you are into architectural photography) but of course also the lense quality, are uncomparable. The problem with most of the digital cameras is the weak optical zoom (most of them only have 3x) and the extremely slow shutterspeed.
I also tried recently the Sony DSC V3 - not the latest model, so you might get it cheap somewhere - which showed excellent performance!
