Anyone ever notice that when you go to asiants.com there are actually 2 warning screens that warn of sexually explicit material. I actually read it today and the first screen says you need to be 18+, but the second screen requires you to be 21+ (although some of the buttons on the page say 18+). So really, what age do you need to be to enter? Cuz we might have to kick Grim out!

I think the warnings are there because some countrys won't allow porn to viewed until the age of 21, theres different rules an regulations everywhere so ats are just covering all bases.

In some states... AL, MS, NE, and WY you have to be 21.

Hmm, what if they did geolocation of the IP address (there are such services out there)? It could, among other things, be used to show the appropriate warning screen. Actually, IP geolocation would be kinda funny. We could have user forums that show up only for specific IP regions. Hmm, very clever.

Then again, those bad boys in LOS would never talk to the rest of us again.

Yes there sure is... It's mod_geoip used on Apache web servers. I've worked with geoip before and it ties into  htaccess mod_rewrite and can do just about anything based on IP like redirection or blocking of a country. This Apache httpd.conf or .htaccess below would redirect any IP from Canada to Canada.com

GeoIPDBFile /path/to/GeoIP.dat
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{ENV:GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE} ^CA$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.canada.com [L]

To block everyone from say China from accessing ATS would be easy to do... however trying to filter who's from a particular US State would be much harder to do. Some ISP's like AOL use Proxy and Dynamic IP's and that would make it very hard to know really what State there in.
