Looking for moderators.

Bam and myself have touched on the subject of adding a couple of moderators to the board. There's not a lot to do and you get to feel really hard and cool to your chums!

Actually all you have to do is to move threads to the correct forums! This what I spend hours each week doing. A travel info thread will get posted in trip reports or a request for ladyboy info will go into the News, Views forum...

Sometimes you'll come across something objectionable that Bam and I can't get to on time, but it's unlikely. This forum is pretty unmoderated in the disciplinary sense and it's only misplaced threads that need dealing with for 99% of the time!

It's worth pointing out that moderating a message board is not a popular job sometimes. I'd not blame anyone for thinking "Fuck that - are you mad?"

But if you ARE keen to join the team you will be expected to be active in moving the posts to the correct forum etc. (I check the moderator logs each week to see who is doing what!)

OK - this is for new mods and shows you how to move threads from one forum to another...

Step 1

At the bottom of each list of posts you'll see some new buttons to play with...

To MOVE a thread to anothr forum on the message board click "Move this topic"

Step 2

There are two drop down boxes...

In the top drop down window select the forum that you want to move the thread into...

(You can't move the thread into the same forum it is already in!
Yeah - you think that's stupid but I've tried to do this loads of times!)

Step 2 (Important!)

In the bottom drop down box always select the third option (which is highlighted on the image below!)

You can always move threads back later if someone complains or if you make a mistake! So practice on a little seen thread if you like!

Moderating a forum isn't for everyone so if you want to quit at anytime then PM me or Bam and we'll drop you like a ton of bricks, revoke your membership priviledges and hunt down your family. The movie 'The Firm' was based on this forum!

Once you're in you can't get out! Just kidding of course... or am I?
