Maybe you are missing something. Last time I checked 90% of the threads in the Fish Box forum weren't directly related to LBs or Thailand. Maybe its why we call it the Fish Box forum. Just a guess.

Just because you are now a moderator does not give you the free reign to treat this forum as your very own world with unrelated topics of which 90% of us have no interest.

I enjoyed parts of your trip report however, now you are starting to depart from the actual intent of this site and your posts have very little factual or beneficial content.

I'm a moderator by choice, because I feel I've received a lot from the forum and its contributors, and I'm trying to give back in a tangible way. At no point have I ever tried to tell people what can and can't be posted, unlike yourself. Sounds to me you want to play post-Nazi.

I'm not sure what your beef with me is, but I think you really missed the point of my post. The forum we're talking about is the Fish Box (you might want to read the forum description on the main page). It's a forum that's been used to discuss everything else. If you think my post is off-topic from what you think the forum should be (and we are talking about what YOU think the forum should be), then all I ask if you be consistent to everyone else who has posted off-topic items. There are hundreds of posts ranging from jokes, music, masturbation, credit scores, user names, sports, you name it. I don't see you going into all those posts with smart-ass comments like " Who gives a rat's ass about this" and "Who gives a shit?". Why don't you go in to all of these posts and ask them "Who gives a shit" and see what they tell you.

Regarding posts with little or no factual content, I'm a little skeptical from a person who's most memorable post I've read is "Who gives a shit".

The fish box is a forum for topics that do not really fit into any of the other forums. Whilst this is primarily a forum about ladyboys and related stuff there is no reason not to have other fun and possibly useful information as long as it is posted in the appropriate forum, which this was.

DP's poll is not off topic at all and neither was your reply of "who gives a shit" to be honest. As that is your opinion and in fact mine as well.

So in short I think that both of you are a little of the mark. DP is entitled to his poll and Pentire entitled to his opinion.

if you are coming to the fishbox for beneficial information maybe you are in the wrong place and should stick to the scientific journals that i have to read.

if dp wants to post a poll, what is the big deal? are you so bored with your life that you have to make a comment on everything just to let the masses know that "you are not interested"? if you are really not interested, you can always just move on to the next post right? no, but you are so bored with your life, so devoid of anything to fill your time that you feel it necessary to let everyone know that you don't care but do care enough to make lame comments?

it seems to me that the fishbox is meant to fill a need for posts that don't really have a category and hopefully add something to this group. as the description states the fishbox is for "All the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else!".
if we were as rigid in our thinking as you, there would no superbowl poll...jokes thread...pick up posts....tell us about yourself threads.....certificates of origin (what the hell are those? :P).....music downloads.... torrents (thanks Stogie and others for enlightening me on this one...i must be downloading TB of this stuff.)....thaksin posts (hhmm not sure why people want to talk about the pm of thailand but to each their own)....soccor and rugby polls.

there is more to the forum and life in general than limiting it to only LB and Thailand. if you were not so busy tossing off and typing with one hand on posts you have no interest in, then this would probably be abundantly clear.

lastly regarding abuse of powers as a moderator....well this is a huge jump. abuse would have been deleting your posts Bentire. but posting a poll that you are free to not respond to is clearly not making the forum into his own image.
