Hello Gents,

I wasn't having a dig at the US  -  only the TV reporting.

The number of times I have watched US TV news knowing that something major was going on somewhere else in the world  -  and the 'Big' news story would be about something in 'Hicksville' USA  

Other countries news services are Not immune from this - but some are better than others.

I found out a long time ago that the widest ranging and often best balanced reporting comes from some of the world service radio news.
You can often get the broadcasts for your own county on MW or AM radio. Most people don't bother because FM is easier to use  

In the UK after 1 am the BBC news is the BBC World Service news.  It's interesting to compare the stories with the 'daytime' news.


By the way in 10 years the country that 'really matters' may well be China.   If you don't believe me go there and have a look.
