Thais going to Indonesia

Do Thais, more importantly ladyboys, have any difficulty traveling to Indonesia? Just curious because I will be going to Bali this summer and would like to bring some company. The girl I'm thinking of already has a passport but I need to know if there's anything else beyond that required. If anyone has any experience doing this, please chime up!

I am tentatively scheduled to be in Thailand from August 5 to August 12, and then planning to go to Bali thereafter for at least 4 to 5 days before coming back to Bangkok and leaving on August 18. Have not bought ticket or hotel for Bali, but want to do so relatively soon. When will you be in the area? This is my first trip to Indonesia, so I am not aware of any ladyboys or warias as you call them. If you got helpful tips, I would be like to hear from you more information about this. Is Kuta and all the other places you mention in the same location as most of the major hotels in Bali? I could be interested in seeing the local scene and girls, but was thinking of bringing a girl I like down with me.

It's a beautiful beach area, so who wouldn't want to go right? Haha...I know what you are saying, but I think the girls I talked to before have an interest to go see someplace other than Thailand. I imagine its got to be similar to Phuket and thats a lovely place.

Personally I would not bother taking anybody to bali - heaps and heaps of the most stunning girls there and quite a few LB's by all accounts. I have tried this before and regreted doing it but perhaps its just me - I prefer more flexibility and the freedom to choose what I want to do.

Incidentally, Bali is about a 3+ hour flight from Bangkok, possibly nearer 4 hours - technically Thai's can travel visa free into Indonesia, but unless you hold an Asean passport, you have to buy a visa on arrival - I think its US$100 for more than 4 days.

However bali is a nice place, but its really not that much different from parts of Phuket - in most places where they have hotels, its overdeveloped and touristy in the same way Phuket is. Why dont you just head down to Phuket on a 60 minute flight or otherwise go to Bali but go alone - picking up girls is about as easy as breathing and not expensive. Incidentally Kuta is very similar to Patong but without quite so many lady bars in your face, but full of tourists and families.

This is a GREAT place, even nicer than the pics, and you might be able to get cheaper rates through some other website, but August is high season in Bali.

However, a friend recommends:

as being almost as nice but less than 100 bucks a WEEK but I don't think there's an in room safe. it's right in the nightlife area where the warias hang out. Think this place is especially good if you take side trips and don't even bother checking out.

Indonesian women are hot though the warias not as passbale as their Thai sisters and rarely have tits. Many of the girls are not balineese but rather fron Java or Sulawese and come to Bali to look for farangs.

i guess it depends on the individual but i would imagine most Thais would be more comfortable in Phuket or Samui where they speak the language.
