Well it seems that Brazil, although stuttering like england will qualify as group winners from Group G.

And it looks like France has a fight on their hands just to get through the group.

And if England beat Sweden and Trinidad and Tobago beat Paraguay then Sweden are out too!!

Regarding the above post. Finally a LB lover who has his head screwed on correctly. After wasting my life away this past week watching the matches it appears to be a given that Argentina is now the team to beat. Watching the final on TV in Bangkok will be the ultimate culmination for having spent the previous month being a couch potato. I sure hope my "sweetie" is a fooball fan cause that night we ain't going nowhere, nohow for no reason.

Argentina are good, very good!... but a team can peak to early and the head of steam will blow away sooner or later . It better to peak in the latter stages.

Write England off at your peril. Assuming that they need to beat Sweden which is not a forgone conclusion, then you will see a strong display .... 2 nil to Eng. Lampard to score the first goal.

Germany have a crap team and England will demolish them if duty calls, believe me. I would put money on it.

Germany V Equador.

These two teams united in a 'friendly' tonight and Germany was three goals less sloppy than Equador! Equador (already through) rested their hearts and minds for the upcoming game against... to be decided!

England eked out a draw against a dominant and clearly determined Swedish side and the English team continue two traditions... not beating Sweden and doing enough to stay alive in a major tournament till they face a seeded team!

The run continues - 38 years.

However we did top the group for the first time in a major tournament for 20 years, and we avoid Argentina!!

England:Sweden..... excellent match!!! FANTASTIC goal from Cole (for me the best one so far!!!), although a great Swedish team.....so just a draw! It remains interesting!!!

My guess is........
You wont see Crouch on against Equador. As the silly cunt Erikson didnt take five strikers , he will have to conserve one on the bench and that is Mr Crouch. He will play 4-5-1.  And if Rooney is injured the show is over.

If Rooney is fit we still have a chance to the semis. Gerrard and Cole are peaking at the right time as well.

The Sweden coach, Lars lagerbeck said that 4 million a year is obscene for Sven wages.... i agree......even us humble armchair( or barstool) experts could have told him that two injured strikers plus crouch and Walcott was asking for trouble.

Also the job should have gone to Martin O Niell. Mc Claren is just a FA yes man who will be sacked next summer and then they will have to pay On Niell double to get him. the FA are a joke.
