Opening a reliable free e-mail account

    Asking the experts around..
I need to open a free (or even paid-up if worthy) e-mail account that I'll be using it for business purpose (not heavy traffic) and being able to read mails from anywhere I'm.
Would prefer to avoid Hotmail and Yahoo, although Yahoo works much better than MSN, IMHO.
I'm using now two lycos (mailcity) paid-up e-mails and they suck, although they (unsuccessfully!) have tried to improve it.
Any suggestion about which is the most SPAM-free, user-friendly, big capacity, no-problem-with-attachemnt, etc..etc..?
    Many thanks guys

you can't beat gmail, but you need an invite to code to open an account. If you need a code just PM me and provide me with a email account to send the code to.

( I have 100 invites so anyone who wants one, just PM )

i'll third gmail. Stogie sent me an invite in the early days so I actually got my own name as the addresss.

The search features work great so it's easy to find stuff.

Also IMO gmail sounds a bit more professional than hotmail.

          Yes!
That's the main reason in fact.

          Thanks Snick for your offer!

I'll be deciding that with my vendor in a couple of weeks time.

          Thanks guys!

I think with Yahoo, for a very small fee, maybe 10 bucks a year, you can change your address from yahoo.com to whateveruwant.com

I think I might be wrong about Yahoo Mail Plus. They might be offering mutiple Yahoo addresses, not sure.

I just googled "personalized email address" amd lots of stuff came up that's fairly cheap.

GMail rocks. I don't know what I'd do without it. It loads so much quicker than the other dreadful freebie wannabees.

Like Snick I also have some invites to the GMail clan so if you are interested email either of us...

I'd go with Gmail but if you really want your own domain name this outfit looks like it's only 20 bucks a year.

                      No, you were right!
It's possible to have it at USD 35.00 per year.

Thanks Stogie also for your further suggestion about gmail.

Should have known it before I opened those account with that silly lycos
