I am sure the expat will have better info but CNN is now posting the suspect's name:
(CNN) -- Authorities have arrested a suspect in the decade-old JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation, law enforcement sources told CNN on Wednesday.
A law enforcement source identified the suspect as 41-year-old John Mark Carr, a one-time school teacher.
An investigator with the Boulder County, Colorado, District Attorney's office is bringing Carr from Bangkok, Thailand, CNN affiliate KUSA reported.
Two law enforcement sources told CNN that Carr was under investigation for an unrelated sex crime.
"It is our hope that this arrest will bring some closure to the Ramsey family after a 10-year ordeal." said the family's attorney, Hal Haddon. "We respect the legal process and will have no further comment about the case or the evidence until that process is concluded."
JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, told 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado, that he has been notified of the arrest. Asked if he knew Carr, Ramsey replied, "To the best of my knowledge, no," the station's Web site reported.
Prosecutors in Boulder are expected to hold a news conference Thursday.
Carr was arrested Wednesday morning and has confessed to certain elements of the crime that are unknown to the general public, KUSA reported.
JonBenet's beaten and strangled body was found in the basement of the family home in Boulder, Colorado, the day after Christmas in 1996. She was 6.
A grand jury investigation into the death of the child beauty pageant winner ended without charges in 1999.
The investigation focused a spotlight on the child's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey. Patsy Ramsey died in June of ovarian cancer. She was 49.
The Ramseys said an intruder committed the crime, but they remained the subject of suspicion and speculation.
In 2003 a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against the Ramseys, blaming the police and the FBI for bungling the investigation. The Boulder County District Attorney's Office concurred with the judge's opinion the following month, saying there was little evidence against the couple
The Ramseys left Colorado and had a house in Charlevoix, Michigan, where John Ramsey unsuccessfully ran for office in 2004.
CNN's Kelli Arena contributed to this report.

And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!
FORT MINOR-REMEMBER THE NAME
As the father of two semi-adults, it has to be a parents worst nightmare. Without question. It seems (so far) the father had no idea who the suspect is, and the father and his wife (who died last year) were always suspect in a lot of peoples eyes. Enough that they were taking multiple lie detector tests for the first couple of years. If the fucker is guilty they should just shoot him.
I like this quote:
"People like him are dangerous. We have criminals from all over the world running away from their home countries to look for teaching jobs in Thailand," Suwat said.
How many of you guys are teachers or former teachers?
Retired the top 12. Need a new dirty dozen.
Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon. Is it possible to find 5 more? Until then, GGs: Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.

Police said Karr had been living in a dormitory-style guesthouse called "The Blooms" in a neighborhood of massage parlors and travel agents that cater to expatriate residents and sex tourists. The nine-story hotel offers rooms for as short as three-hour rentals.
Karr has now let the world into some of his secrets. On Wednesday evening, the wan, sandy-haired one-time grade school teacher arrived at Bangkok's Suan Phlu immigration pen, to spend the night in a solitary cell. The day before, a judge in Boulder, Colorado, had issued an arrest warrant for Karr in the nearly decade-old murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the six-year old child beauty pageant contestant. Soon after, a small group of plainclothes Thai and U.S. officers arrived at his shabby apartment, where Karr had stayed since arriving from Malaysia in June, on the latest of several trips in recent years to the Thai capital. Later Karr sat silently as U.S. and Thai authorities discussed his case in a press center. The press conference broke up with a photo op of the suspect, who wore a sky-blue polo shirt and beige slacks without a belt.
The press corps had begun to fade away when Karr, in a surprise, sent word that he wanted to speak directly to the media, and he was hustled back into the room. I found myself crouched directly in front of him as he sat at the table. His jaw was locked and his eyes darted as the questions began firing. Did he kill Jon Benet Ramsey? Karr spoke slowly, his voice low and stuttering. "I was with Jon Benet when she died...Her death was an accident." Other questions elicited silence, or pained glances. A "no comment" on his relationship to the Ramsey family. After a few minutes, he glanced upwards at his captors, and they quickly led him away.
Thai officials say Karr could be on a plane back to Boulder as early as the weekend, to face charges of murder, kidnapping and sexual assault of Ramsey. Karr has put up no legal barriers to the extradition so getting him back to the U.S. will presumably be simply a matter of arranging for the marshals to escort him back to Colorado.
He said he was with her when she died.
That could mean a lot of different things.
His brother and ex-wife have already said as far as they know he was living in Alabama at the time, and have no idea that he has ever been to Colorado. His brother said he doesn't think he could have been in Colorado at the time it happened.
