I really liked this film , definetly worthy of some praise , well told story full of twists and surprises . The story revolves around the rivalry between 2 magicians in the late 19th Century .

Great cast Christian Bale , Hugh Jackman , Michael Caine , Scarlett Johannson and great little appearance by David Bowie . A well told and directed movie by Christopher Nolan ( Memento , Batman Returns ) .

Its Worth a look guys .

[Groundhog]

I was a real fan of Chris Nolan's previous movie Memento (IMHO it was one of the great movies of all time) but The Prestige let me down at the end... (no spoilers, I'll be polite)

... and that's too bad, because it is a marvelously acted, scripted and cinematographed (whatever) film ... right up until the end ...

... and then we (the audience) were whacked with, not one but two, deus ex machinas (duel deus ex machinas?) ...

... I was really disappointed the more I thought about it ... I thought Nolan would give me a truly innovative ending ... but he took the cheap route out of a convoluted plot ...


... on another point, I did get excited about Tesla ... I am going to build a Tesla coil (really) ... I'm putting the parts together now ...

I'm goint to try to requisition one of the models (maybe her knockers) to use as a strike rail ... imagine how that would look in a photo shoot

i went & saw this today & really enjoyed it, good feel about it & great acting, even bowie did a good job ( tho he did look abit like ricky gervaise!!)
as for the ending thought it was good, tho had spotted the twist with Christian bales character.
but deff worth checking out
