Boys and Girls, I'm going into semi retirement and I can't take you with me. (stop cheering)
After Thanksgiving, I'm leaving for a far away exotic place to do logistics and support for what works out to be a boatload of money after you've done the numbers. Since I'll be in a rather "restricted" area,... you got it, no porn allowed, and I get 3 travel breaks a year.
About a year ago our fearless leader started a topic called "how's your life gone so far?", and all I could muster was a 2 or 3. As much as I hated that topic, it was surprising to me how much I thought about it. After 23 years of an ex, my ex house, (I built the fucker too) kids, their cars, college, and on and on, the numbers look a little troubling. Figure in a deteriorating back, and the future, well I decided to go this route to bulk up the retirement so I don't have to depend on my kids. (I'd rather drive into a bridge abutment.) What this does is gets my S.E.Asia goal set, and wipes out all of my mortgagees, and fills the nest egg, depending on how long I hang around. Most importantly I can retire about 10 years earlier than I thought.
I'll have to re-up soon enough incase I can sneak a peek every now and then, but if possible I'd like to pass along my ever encompassing vastly important Moderator job to A.T.S. icon Mirimark. I've got him up to 900 cash and he misses the turmoil.
It's still not 100% yet as I have to go through a wicked medical exam, drug testing, and an friggin anal probing that would make Smuttley blush,
but at this point I'm about 90% through the door.
I'll be around for a bit so maybe I'll go over to the Coulter colume and start some shit with the fellahs. I love the abuse.

Anyway, I bet you'll be then closer to LOS than before - sounds like an advantage. You have to spend your bucks somewhere anyway!

But with the tax incentives, benifits, and no expenses, if I limit myself to spending 35,000 cash a year, I'll still be able to bank about 300k in 5 if I can last that long. The kids are cool with it, and surprisingly my son is more worried than my daughter, but I have an connection within the system and my safety is not a concern. 
but since he's been on this site I think he's younger than me now
