Why anyone would ever want to fly with these bloodsuckers is beyond me. You would have to pay me to fly with this crowd. Them and Quantas.

I hear they now charge £240 for an extra piece of hold luggage....that will catch a few out....

the last time i flew was Bus class and was awfull.
The time before that i flew economy class and the seat was so cramped that the blood flow to my legs ground to a halt. I got off the plane and felt like the Hunchback
    of Notre Dam

the staff are arrogant and unhelpfull. in my limited experience

They loose at least 100,000 pieces of hold luggage a year. records are broken every year on this count.
. Although people do eventually get it back thats no help if your Holiday in Thailand without your golf clubs or your red velvet carpet slippers.

    Overpriced , Overated and Overhere.

I quite like BA. Always have been on time, good service in club europe, and run all the major route.

Biz class is always rated highly because you always get flat beds. The same seats on every flight.

And again voted best airline last year

They have yet to supply anything close to decent service every single time I have been forced to use them. They are a last resort along with Ryanair & some of the other appaulling budget airlines.

This was gleaned from the BBC.

        23 January 2007
In December 2006, the British Airways (BA) baggage system at Heathrow went into meltdown. In the space of two weeks, the world's favourite airline lost 28,000 bags. And not all of them belonged to BA customers, because the airline handles 40 per cent of Heathrow's luggage.

I agree... I wrote an article recently on a BBC forum high-lighting the tactics of these Nazis. AA and Quanta's are the same... rigidly adhering to petty rules, employing witches as cabin crew and as about as comfortable as a tax reminder typed in red!

If you do have a choice the so called 'third world' Nationals are much better. they won't treat you like a new arrival at prison on arrival, The staff are more respectful and mindful of your needs on board the plane also.

I try to fly Quatar, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, etc, whenever I get a choice.

The best Airline? its fixed IMO
. The outfit who run the voting system are called Skytrax and i think the whole thing stinks.

It seems rather strange that the two airlines that i rate lowest are the two highest according to the award. And they are both BA owned. As far as i know in the last calendar year they have lost 180,000 bags , had numerous strikes and treat there staff like shit.
Do the 180,000 people who lost their bags get a vote!

Ok what i want to know is who votes. I have never been offerd a voting slip for the best airline, and i have made a lot of flights. I want my democratic right to vote.

I suggest that we need to employ a conspiricy theoriser
to investigate . Methinks that they may be using the same voting system that Col. Gaddaffi uses .....It certainly works for him....

anyway if anyone is mad enough to fly with them and have there luggage end up in Antartica .. you were warned

Can I ask how many times you have flown with Qantas SB?

I recently flew Thai to BKK because no other flights available at such short notice and I would have to say the worst international flight ever for me. Did not even have in seat entertainment!!

Never has a problem with Qantas and been flying with them for business and pleasure for 10 years.

I reckon Singapore Airlines is pretty damn good also.

three years ago me and a friend took a Quantas flight from London.

During the ceremony when they rabbit on about the life jackets and emergency exits me and my buddy were reading the dinner menu instead.... some gay twit steward came over and read the riot act how we were being irresponsible.....like a fucking schoolteacher.
I dont need a lifejacket anyhow... ill just strangle the guys next to me , take his and plead insanity.

Also they stopped people going to the Loo even when the turbulance was minimal. these rules are ignored on EVA air thank god.

the staff were arrogant beyond the call of duty. I would even say nasty. I hate these airlines that employ gays.. i want to look at a nice Asian stewardess babe and have wank in the toilet over her stockinged legs.

                    never again Quantas.

I have been on a bad flight with nearly every airline I have ever flown. Had bad experiences with United, BA, Qantas, Singapore, Thai, American Airlines, Air New Zealand the list goes on. I just look at the percentage of bad flights as my barometer.

Another one gives BA credit for best European Carrier and Best Business Carrier.

It is not a fix. BA wins awards every year for business travel and with its Partner Qantas offer a great service. Most of their problems surround Heathrow Airport (a nightmare) and working practises that date from the 70's and are still heavily unionised.

                          mmmm.. im not so sure.

If you read about Skytrax who do the survey it doesnt specify the parameters of how exactly the winner is arrived at....it just says that a lot of people voted.

                          1) who votes and how is it conducted?. I have never been asked to vote?
                          has anyone else

                          2) It also states that most of BAs favourable response came from Business class passengers ... .no surprise there then.....

                          3) Any airline that looses well over 135,000 bags+ a year should actually be struck off ... the chairman to be flogged, hung , drawn, quarterd and then the remains thrown in a vat of acid.

                            Another one for you:

                            http://www.cntraveller.co.uk/Readers...es/default.asp

Voted by the readers of Conde Nast Traveller

secondly in the year to March 2006 BA carried 35,600000 passengers. If each have an average of one bag, then 135000 bags lost is 0.38%. Its really not that bad is it?

Hung drawn and quartered seems a bit severe..

BA - The worlds favourite airline

(no - I dont own shares)

I have only flown long haul with BA once from BKK to London and cant fault them at all, on time and good service

The outward journey was with QANTAS, I think the  Aussie Captain was on "waccy baccy" by the comments he kept coming out with,
                              he was fucking hilarious

The Cabin crew were virtually non-existant after the 1st hour from taking off, probaly taking a long nap or joining the "mile high" club

Again only flown ONCE with QANTAS so it is not meant as a slur on them

                              Dave...
