    Daytona!

    They just gave the start you engines call and the Superbowl of NASCAR is about to kick off with newcome Pablo Montoya from Formula One getting a lot of attention. Just curious how he will play out. Several people are predicting him for rookie of the year. I know a few years ago Tony Stewart made the transition from Indy cars to NASCAR and has become a dominating force.............

    Another sub plot is the beginning of Toyota this year. A lot of prejudice against a "foriegn" car yet Daryl Waltrip points out at the beginning that the Monte Carlo (Chevy) is made in Canada, the Ford Fusion in Mexico and the Dodge elsewhere as well whereas the Toyota is made in Georgetown Kentucky. Doesn't help to get caught cheating in their first race like Michael Waltrip did.

    Call me a redneck but I love NASCAR and not just for the wrecks.

              Great Finish although I was rooting hard for Mark Martin, formerly of the Viagra car, to win his first Daytona but it wasn't to be as Kevin Harvick got a great run to get him by 2/100ths of a second. For all the Formula one fans Montoya finished 19th and kind of looked like he was playing it cautious most of the race. I think he will be a force in the future. And the debut of Toyota brought a 23rd place finish.

              On to California next week!!!!

                I was at the first Nascar race at Vegas a good few years back and i was impressed. The Cars are awesome... they used to have another series alongside with slightly lower power cars called the Busch? clash and this was almost as good.

                Seen Montoya at Silvestone in F3000 series and we knew this guy would make it someday. good luck to him.

                  Poor Mark Martin.   Always a brides maid.

                   I was really disappointed.    I had to work sunday and didn't see any of the race.
