  • Best song of the 70's

I love music from the 70's. I know there are thousands of tracks out there. I am interested on what floated your boat way back in our youth.
I know what is a hit in Oz may not resonate in down town Bangkok or Stoogieville but i am sure we all have some favs.

you absolutely nailed it my friend!

how can you have a 'best of the 70's' and no selection by rolling stone magazine's 'performer of the decade'?

'after the goldrush' is in my top 5 *all-time*. the song *and* the album -- oh, for you young guys, an "album" is a vinyl version of a CD. you put it on something called a "turntable" and place a diamond-tipped needle on it and like magic, music fills the air.

      it's awesome. scratches and all.

Count me in - I love Neil Young too! I also like his occasional friend Steve Stills a lot too.

I almost voted for 'The Joker', but the happy "I can see clearly, now!" is the best song in that list.

There was a lot of great music (and choices) in the 70s from Genesis, Floyd and King Crimson to Pistols and Ramones... Probably the best decade ever for music.

Some stand outs for me include Joe Jackson, Joan Armatrading, The Stranglers and Floyd... (I have varied tastes!)

How can there be such a list of nominees without "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" (Meatloaf) included? While we're on the subject, what happended to "Freebird" that song has to be right up there.

I like Paradise especially since my homey Scooter Phil makes a cameo.

                              Freebird vastly overated IMO.
