I live in Central London and i can tell you that you aint alone, half the guys in the city have the same problem.....

books are a good place to start and there are many...i think the popular one was " dont fret the small stuff"  a few years back..

. Also i would see your Doctor first as they can prescribe medication that may help over a rough period. It normally takes a few weeks for the tablets to kick in... so book an appointment now. They will also give you other advice that you wont get here.

        exercise.
        gets the dopamine flowing.
no need to go crazy into fitness.
just try climbing the stairs a few times instead of the elevator.
a brisk walk in the crappy cold; a hard fuck...
i don't recommend alcohol. the next day it's just worse than it was before. and talk to two doctors before you take any pills.
obviously i have no idea if you've got the winter blues or clinical depression, but over-medicating for the unpleasant vicissitudes of life won't help. it's like taking a viagra to help get it up to fuck an ugly girl.
        she's still gonna be ugly.
better off finding a new girl. or a ladyboy.
        patience.
and make a long list of all the ladyboys you're gonna get to fuck when you do get back to LOS.
and just think how much fun it's gonna be to tear up that list sitting in obsession with #X on your left, #Y on your right and #Z on the dance floor adjusting her package just for you...
        all things must pass.
        take care.

Right on Although medication can be very helpful in chronic cases, I would use that as a last resort. (Unless we're talking alternative medicine here  )

If I read your post/plea ( ) correctly allstar, I think it sounds like you just have a case of the blues man

If it's just a funk you're in, shake yourself up man and get out of it. Get back on the horse maybe ? Start planning the next trip. Get the maps out, plan the itineraries, search the Forum and compile your Hit List    :

That should keep your mind off the drudgery.

i saw the great bb king in concert years ago and he'd just started up his hit singing 'every day i get the blues -' when he suddenly stopped, shook his head and said 'man, how can i sing the blues when i got all you people cheering for me?' you never heard such a roar. i thought it'd never end.

so i guess coming to this forum is like having ten thousand drunken college kids cheering for you.

Sharing is the key...that's what I tell the ladies in the bar every evening...

Seriously, I had the problem some years back...the type where as you stand on the very edge of the cliff the fear isn't that you will fall but that you will jump...

My therapist adivsed walking...so walk I did...at first I just walked and walked and thought and thought but after some time I just walked...

It worked...the wound scabbed over...but left a little scar as a reminder that you can indeed heal...

                  Good luck to you mate...

Three good suggestions above, exercise, good food, good nights sleep.

                    Exercise: whatever you like most

                    Sleep: it really helps

Food: this is more a trial and error thing but try to observe what foods make u feel good and what foods make u sluggish.

Coming up with a few exit strategies isn't a bad idea either.  Probably part of any exit strategy is saving up some money.

One other thing is that sometimes we feel imprisoned by work.  But it's really a choice.   So spending a minute while walking to work being conscious that you made a choice to get up and go to work today cause the salary is worth the pain and stress of work.

                    Good luck Allstar!

Try hanging out with coworkers you like. Or find other people in your industry, and get out with them. If you can't bond with them, move on. Try an outdoors activity with a group of new people. Watch '24' and think about how bad Jack Bauer has it.

I don't mean to make light of your situation. But, try visiting or volunteering at a homeless shelter or a middle school. You don't have to do it much, but you'll soon find a new perspective that gets you more confident and appreciative of the positive things in your life. Confidence and perspective go a long way in helping out.

Retired the top 12.  Need a new dirty dozen.

Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon.  Is it possible to find 5 more?  Until then, GGs:  Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.

I found uk guy Robert Holden's book good:  "Stress Busters - over 101 strategies for Stress survival"  ......PM me if you want any more details, allstar.

I seem to have a selection of self-help books, so I guess I've been near kahuna's cliff at times too!

Support from friends, forum or otherwise, definitely helps - especially when you realise how many other guys from 25-75 get down feelings, panic attacks, or just go through a very difficult patch.  Good luck

I guess i am quite lucky in that i don't get stress even though i am in a constant stressful environment. (own business-no cash!!) .

I find watching silly tv like soaps and sports help a lot, especially when you dont have to think too much, and of course plenty of Marlborough Reds!!
