...yup..I did that, a year in Norway and a year in Belgium.... worked a normal job and spent all my time with locals............USA definately has it's benefits and a lot more "freedoms" than either of those 2...........but then, I only lived in each country for 1 year........maybe after a longer stay I get more freedoms.........and maybe if I had lived in a European country that did not still cling to the "royal family" traditions, I would have had more freedoms.

You may consider the UK monarchy to be blood suckers, but they are rank amatuers compared to the tax man.

When you go through all the other options for the UK it rapidly becomes obvious that a constitutional monarchy
not only gives us tourist income on a scale that nothing else would but politically is still better than the alternatives.
Tony Blair as president?     Oh I forgot he thinks he is already!  


I remember seeing something a couple of years ago that showed that the total costs incured by the monarchy against the
public purse (for the Queen alone admittedly) was LESS that the Prime Minister of Ireland.

once again i love the USA but its not the be all to end all countries. it has its good points. but it has more crapy points then people know about because they are such sheep and depend on the news media for their feelings of wheather to be mad or happy about something..( the tought police are on the way next) because the brain washing already has begun.

I am with you 100%. The only thing is, I don't know what to do ... this once great place is going down a drain. Party is over for us. I feel like riding on a sinking ship, really... Can this place really rise again? EVERYWHERE is freer than us now. The only freedom we have is that we can go to other places without VISA and enjoy the freedom there. Every time coming back, I feel like re-entering to prison right at the terminal in Narita.
How we get here is a subject of political science. I just hope it's not going to be studied under the topic of "formally free" countries.

my wife leaves for malaysia end of this month. and i will follow in august. so long USA is my answer. i will only come back to the states to work for short times each year. theres no fixing a greedy country with a bunch of sheep living here run by the pigs.

Lucky you man. Almost everybody I know with foreign backgrounds (wife, friends, immigrant relatives, or even just world travelers) are planning a retirement overseas. Practically, if you get sick, this is not the place you can afford living un-freely. Sad, very sad.
