LA church sale to fund sex claims:

Cardinal Mahony pledged not to close any parishes. The Roman Catholic archbishop of Los Angeles has said his archdiocese will sell its main office to raise money to settle lawsuits for sexual abuse. Cardinal Roger Mahony also said some 50 other buildings could be sold to settle hundreds of lawsuits brought by people who had been abused by priests.

In December, the archdiocese - America's largest - paid some $40m (£20m) to settle 46 cases. But it still faces more than 500 claims that have been in litigation for years.

Of course it's not exactly news that men of the cloth bugger small boys and it should come as no surprise to most of us that the Catholic church has been infested with kiddy fiddlers since it's inception, but my question is this...

With all these perverts wondering about in dresses raping small boys - WHY is the church a tax free organisation?

I can only assume that the government and authorities must all be in on this scam...

The Vatican is supposed to be the largest landowner in the world, was what I read some time ago. It's not too hard to believe.

The Pope is 'infallible' by self-decree, was it Pope Pius the IXth or so that made that canon law? Infallible means, of course, he does no wrong. The pope as head of the Vatican, which is a country, is, I think, the head of the State (like a President or Prime Minister). So you could call this State sponsored rape.

We had a treatment center in our state they would send the offending priest here for treatment then after he was cured he would be reassigned to our local churches. Needless to say our state was the first with the multmillion settlements. the interesting thing though was the fucks did nothing to head off the coming scandals that shook up LA, NY, ans Boston about ten years later.

A leading bishop has ordered an independent investigation into the files of 850 members of the clergy following recent child abuse cases. Bishop of Manchester Rev Nigel McCulloch will appoint a lawyer to make sure none of the files contain outstanding child protection issues. It comes after ex-reverend David Smith was jailed for grooming and abusing six children over a 30-year period.
          The story is here...

The Brits are not immune to the dangers of religous kiddie fiddlers, either. Hundreds of thousands of young children from all over the world are raped and abused by the leaders of the church in the name of God... and all tax free...

I am no fan of Catholicism and other myth-mongering.

But Ziggy, you are a politically correct hypocrite to criticize the papists and their crimes while simultaneously and pharisaically whining about the Muslim bashing going on here.

I suggest that you save a little venom for the fucking Muslims with their throatslitting, female genital mutilation and stoning of women.

Well, more jibberish from Sangabriel. I truly hope you get pleasure from that.

Frankly, it's not hard to imagine priests raping young boys. As the only religion on the earth that practices chastity, what can one expect? With the same testosterone and desires as most of us, does the church think they can be happy jerking off every day? It's not unthinkable that they want sex sometimes. If they went for adults, it would be all over town and they'd lose their jobs, so, what's next? Little kids who will keep their mouths sealed in fear.

This is really an extraordinarily repulsive statement in defense of unspeakable crimes.

It wasn't meant to be a defense, just an explanation.

I do agree they are unspeakable crimes. Can't get much worse I think.
