  • Are you rich?

Of course a question of your well being financially is always relative but it's also partly a state of mind, too.

In the poll I put that although I'm comfortable, I could always use more.

But if I had more I'd rent a nicer house, go out more and buy more expensive aftershave! I'd work less and relax more... I'd not dream about winning the lottery so much!

I'll not stay in fancy hotels in this life, but I still feel pretty comfortable about where I am right now.

But I must admit that part of that comfort is comparing my life with people of a similar age in the UK. Mountains of debt, huge mortgages which seem to jump up each month and costly families to support and hunt and gather for...

Having no stress is worth giving up the big bucks for!

So - how about you... are you stinking rich without a care or do church mice take the piss...

    Lols.

    good topic.

I guess this is something so personal, and amounts that someone needs are much greater than someone else needs. Its the same with the thread about how much the hookers earn.

I reckon everybody wants more, and thats why we work harder. unless you inherit or win the lottery, then most of us will never know what its like to be super wealthy.

For me. i voted, get by, but its a struggle sometimes, I dont take a large salary and have quite a lot of debt from starting a business, but hopefully this should soon be put right and start earning a decent amount.

BTW - what is a decent amount? I reckon 50-70k a year gives me the life i really want!
seriously pig headed, arrogant, double standard smart ass poster!

I voted my answer isn't really covered here.

      I don't work...haven't for a few years...and I'm poor...I just try and live like I'm rich...

But the best part...no wife...no debt...I own my own home and car...no stress...no one to please but myself...
Well, there are a few girls in LOS who depend on my bht...

I am probably pretty lucky - work in Thailand (sometimes), have a work permit and residency, got pretty much every thing I need and dont really want for anything. If I worked in another country for sure I could earn a lot more, but to me quality of life is critical. Certainly when I look back at the job I used to do, I miss the energy of it - but dont miss the problems beyong my control, which I was required to fix. Life is predictable for me - thats pretty cool. But I doubt many guys would ever say they have more than enough money - lets face it, you always want more.

          Cheers

Counting my pay as an armed courier, my military retirement, and my VA Pension I hit $70,000 last year. My spouse brought in another $24,000+ == that's the good part.

The bad part is her 77 year old parents have lived with us 23+ years and are a financial drain (as are the 14 year old, the 5 dogs, and the cat).

Result, I work 60-70 hours a week, don't get laid, haven't time to take a vacation, but can do little things like going to the movies with the spouse and daughter, go shooting almost anytime I want, and eat out (not the wife) frequently.

Perhaps, I need a part time job so I can divert money from family to a LOS trip (is it possible to have 36 hours in a day).

mardhi has it sorted by the sound of it, whereas SF1B4 seems to have the opposite- working 60-70 hours a week and considering a part time job on top of that- jesus christ! someone find this guy a solution.

You are a married resident who fucks around with LB...!

Man, maybe you should not have gotten married, because with your LB interest and potential for deep pockets, you had better be prepared for the possibility of a nasty divorce and paying lots of alimony to an angry ex-wife...

I am on the bread line struggling to make ends meet, I visit the ASDA oops counter first when forced to go for provisions & maintain a strict £25 a week budget on food & essentials. Luckly I have no paracites, kids, dogs cats, dependants, & especially a wife. The main financial drain I have is the state & its absurdly high taxes. Especially considering the appaulling service it provides for it. I have no debt, altho I have a mortgage, 0.87p a month for the next 14yrs, I hate the mortgage company so they can live with it & maintain my deeds. My commissioning engineers salary & military pension barely keep my head above water, but I can manage a couple or 3 trips to the LOS each year.

                            Poverty, it sucks!
