  • Pay Per Minute American Cell Phone Provider

A friend gave me a cell phone for American use. I plan to use it sparingly in special situations since I really don't like being reachable.

I don't want to locked into a long term deal or pay a set rate per month.

I want a Thai style plan even if the cost per minute is high. Any ideas guys?

PD, go to target, kmart, walmart, they all carry plans. I use a net10 phone and 300 min. 30 dollars. Not happy with the phone I cannot hear it ring sometime, I plan on getting a better phone. You can also find a plan on line. I recharge my phone over the net.

PD, I am guessing that you will be using that phone only when you are in the USA, as roaming charges are excessive for most plans.

You can check E-Bay and do a search for Sim cards. There are several hundred that show up, Cingular, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Nextel show up most frequently. I am not familiar with any of these, but suggest you can do further research if they will meet your requirements, re: coverage, network, cost, etc.

Right RX, only in the USA and rarely at that.

Moe, I like the idea of going to Target since there'-s one nearby work and i want to walk out of the place good to go.   Your type of plan is just what I'm looking for, the 300 minutes should last me all year.  I can get that without buying a phone?

PD, you may have to buy a phone. The plans I have seen include a phone in the initial price. Go on line and type in pay as you go phone plan you will see them all but check carefully the verizon plan is very expensive a flat fee and then .45 cents a minute.
The only down side to my plan is the time limit on your minutes, they are only good for three months then I have to buy new min.
          So shop around.

            PD,

Long Story short get a T-Mobile...
Good Cells and best part it is  just .10 per minute and they last a year from when you add minutes.
If minutes will exp near a year later just add a new coupon and you are good for another year

Best deal in USA as far as I know
