blue I wrote this post ( see below) a few days ago on the "Thaksin to buy Man City" thread which is also in the "Fish Box" section and where I have some good banter with my City friends.
And I doubt you will miss Chelsea too much while your in , you can always see them on TV and MORE importantly your in the time of your life and life's too short mate
I hope and know you will have a great time
I have been a Manchester United fan since 1967 when my Dad took me to Old Trafford for the first time at the age of 6
I've loved them ever since and followed them "thick" and "thin" during the 70's and 80's home and away,
Getting pissed wet through on an away game at Luton Town on a wednesday night seeing the likes of Ashley Grimes equalise in a nothing game
Carlisle away in the FA Cup 3rd round many years ago and seeing people appauding us from their bedroom windows as we walked up Warwick Road as if the Queen was making a visit.
Beating the Scouse's in the FA Cup final in 1977 to stop them doing the "proper" treble
Having to queue up outside the Scoreboard Paddock" two hours before each game at home matches to make sure you got in
These were the good old days and it didnt matter if United won or lost, we had a good day and I have a lot of fond memories of our United family
I am not one of the "prawn sandwich" brigade, never have been and never will, these bastards have been "spoilt" over the last ten years
They dont know how lucky they are
I am one of their biggest critic's and I detest them
Hearing their moan's behind me on the touchline annoys me no end
I have been fortunate to have worked for United as a stretcher bearer since 1996, the best seat in the house, and actually getting paid £55 per game for watching my team, I would do it for nothing believe me
I just like to think of it as a bit of payback time for me as a genuine United fan and the sacrifices I have made for them over the last 40 years
I have never hated City (except on derby days ), it is just banter with me and I wish they do well as long as they are second to us
We hate Liverpool and Leeds

P.S.
Peter "the cat" Bonetti was my favourite player as a kid and I even named my toy monkey after him which I still have to this day
The 70's Chelsea team I admired and liked, they had some superb players and played great football and of course they beat "dirty" Leeds United in the F.A. Cup final at Old Trafford which gave me immense pleasureAttached FilesYour got yer Mother in a whirl
